Id like to give a shout-out to @PapaRee
I was having some trouble flashing my truck and thought I bricked it. He literally walked me thorough fixing it via telephone call. Hands down a great help and a valuable piece in the tuning community. Thanks a million

Looking for some emergency support here.
I tried to flash the map switch file to test and the truck stalled out when i pulled up about 20ft. It won't cycle back on and I cannot flash it.

Was it *just* the map switch patch file? I believe that needs to be combined with a tune to be used, not flashed on its own.

^ the map switch file shouldn’t be flashed as is. There’s tables to be modified first

Yea, dont use the current file for map switch. Blows a fuse when you use it. He said there would be an update in a few days.

    Both correct haha.

INJ Fuse is also ECU fuse #4 (not labeled). When you blow or unplug the INJ fuse, attempting to connect through VFTuner or TechStream is impossible. But if you hard wire to the ECU itself it works.

I've managed to successfully start the truck with a 15A fuse or higher in that slot but I didn't run for long since it is not designed for it. Mat has a twin turbo set up with a different fuel pump/injectors. He runs a 20A in that slot because of this, hence no issue. (This comes from him and I texting about the issue for a week or so)

I believe it would be OKAY for the ECU to handle the 15A fuse in the slot, but as for the factory injectors I'm not sure. Don't take my word for it because I'm not going to be responsible for anyone locking their truck up on the highway. I'm not willing to risk zapping my injectors just yet :D

Very little info about Ovtune and since his ban, very little posted on his forum about anything .I hope he is still doing well but the lack of interaction must be taking a toll .
I know there was a release for testing for the 8 way switching option for anyone with 04B04 quite a while ago , but I have seen no reviews of using it other than a couple trucks running a few miles then stalling and could not restart . I get it that is was probably user error using the 8 way patch but I have not seen any good reviews of it at all . This along with no release of the ultimate tunes (which use the 8 way ) has me wondering if there is a problem . Does anyone have any info on using it ? I have been waiting for quite a while for these final tunes , and a longer trip pulling my boat this week has me really wanting something ultimate .

posts up a few from this (3213) describe the Map Switching Patch and that their truck died and would not restart. It was noted in these posts that the Map Switch Patch is not a tune - just a patch to be used with a Tune and NOT to use by itself as it will cause the high pressure fuel regulator to blow its fuse - resulting in a dead truck. ??? Maybe this is on the vf forum or maybe VFTuner has posted a warning sign about its use, or maybe VFTuner has fixed the problem. I too thought the Final Ultimate Tunes would be released with 1.3 but not the case. SOON. I don't care squat about the Tunes as I don't use them with my Maggy - but I sure don't want to download any software (Flash Manager or other) that causes my ECU to brick or truck not to run after flashing.

Yeah I saw and replied. Basically anybody who has been following the rules is fucked over, and anybody abusing the system by using the old software will get to continue to do so.

Edit: this turned out to not be fully accurate.
