Has anybody used leasehackr marketplace to lease a Tacoma? There is a broker on there named Jim that deals with Toyota leases in the northeast and offers some pretty good deals. I found a few reviews that seemed legit.

I used Jim in May to get my 2021 sport. Process was super easy and Jim was great. Did everything over the phone and was in and out of the dealer with the truck in 30 minutes. You have to commit fast when he lists the available inventory. It goes really fast. I would definitely use Jim if I lease again.

going through a broker is always easier if you know what you want... but some like going to the dealership...

Venmo. I was super skeptical at first, because the deals seemed to good to be true, but he is the real deal.

It seems like he deals exclusively with Del Toyota and they are the largest volume dealer of Toyota trucks in the Northeast. Because of that, they seem to get trucks when others can’t. I reached out to Jim on a Saturday night, paid the fee, for the truck on Tuesday, flew to Philadelphia the following Monday and had the truck Tuesday. Super easy process from start to finish.

Thanks for the info. I tried paying with Venmo but kept getting flagged for security reasons.

I would proceed with extreme caution. And look at the one person who has said anything positive about "Jim" and their post history.

Agree,I would require at least 5-10 guys on this site saying they used him AND do a Google review search, before I would even attempt too hand him my money.

Jim is the real deal. I got my Tacoma OR from him. Same process as other posters here. Paid the broker fee through venmo and a sales rep from del toyota contacted me. Seriously one of the easiest lease deals i ever had, and thats considering this was a cross country transaction. Philly-nevada. If you want that truck, do it. Jim isnt a scammer, hes got hundreds of reviews backing that up.

It really isnt. He is known to give the best deals. I think hes the only one right now that can get tacomas for sticker without those crazy mark ups.

This Jim guy may be the real deal, he may not be. The thing I don't like is apparently his fee is $500 plus the first lease payment up front, and he wants it before he actually does anything. I was a mortgage banker in a past life and our brokers didn't get paid until a deal actually closed. While paying a broker fee isn't my favorite thing in the world, I don't mind as much if I get value for it. If he's that good, let him give his clients a contract that his fee is due at delivery of the vehicle. There's zero motivation for him to do anything for me if he's already been paid, and as far as I can tell Leashackr is just a forum. There's no vetting that I can see for a broker to list there, although admittedly I didn't do an exhaustive search. Notice also he uses/prefers Venmo, which has no type of buyer protection, and specifically says he doesn't use PayPal (giving the excuse they charge a 3% fee), which has buyer protection and strict verification rules. Put this all together and its making my bend-over alarm scream.

But its not. Leasehackr is a huge legit website and there are brokers for basically every manufacturer. There is also a large amount of information on how to get the best deal without using a broker. Using a broker just makes it quicker and easier. And for the record most every one i know uses Venmo and not Paypal in every day purchases. Hell I paid for some flowers my wife wanted from a self serve flower stand in front of a neighbors house just yesterday.

Also just to be clear i am not a broker nor do i have any affiliation to leasehkr. I have just done my research.

OK fair enough, I have no problem being educated if I am wrong. Please explain to me how Leasehackr is different from any other legitimate forum, including this one, and how I'm protected by Leasehackr from paying someone that i don't know hundreds of $$ up front before a service is rendered? I understand I can check reviews on the site. I'm not being a smart ass, I genuinely want to learn what I'm missing. And just FYI, Venmo was started by PayPal as a peer-to-peer alternative to their PayPal service. It was meant for people to send money to trusted parties they know, not for commerce...although you're right, lots of people use it that way because they can bypass the PayPal fees.

Leasehckr doesnt protect you. Just like TW doesnt protect you if your mods arent done right. There is still personal responsibility involved. Obviously you dont want to just send some broker $ without reading other peoples experiences.

I was looking at Jim as well. I live nearby, so it wouldn’t be hard for me to get there either. How much did your payments look like after taxes and fees if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve never contacted a broker before and in his posts he was pretty clear that he only wanted to be contacted by people who are 100% ready to roll, so I was trying to see exactly how much my monthly would look like first to make sure it’s doable for me.

just call or text him. He’ll give you the price right then and there. Thats what i did. A few texts and once i agreed and paid his fee, dealer contacted me after a couple hours.
