Do not fear, I have arrived.

the backspacing is a much more important than the offset alone. Backspacing is calculated using offset and rim width.

The -12 offset is ideal for 285's only on a 9" wide rim. That's because -12mm offset on a 9" rim is 4.5" backspacing.

So it's important to know the width of the rims you are looking at. My first instinct is that -38 offset with any rim width would be too little backspacing.

Alright I just got the link to load on my blackberry. Looks like they are 10" wide. That's a reaaaaaly wide rim for running just 285's. It says they are 4" backspaced.

So they will sit out 1.5" further than the 9", 4.5" bs rim I mentioned early (0.5" from the backspacing, 1" from the width).

It's a tough call but they might sit out too far and cause some rubbing.

Now we're talking, those are perfect.

Only thing to double check is that someone on here is running those, because some aftermarket 16's rub the calipers.

ok apparently theres a caliper issue on the 2nd gens. if your truck came stock with 16's, they are supposed to fit. mine came with the 17's so there is a possible caliper issue, but those wheels dont come in a 17 that i can find. F**K MY LIFE!!!! im gonna google them lol

No it's all to do with the rim. You have the same calipers as the trucks with 16's.

That would be the worst-case scenario.

Don't get me wrong a LOT of people run aftermarket 16's on here, but there are some models of rims that hit the calipers. I just can't tell you for sure that they will fit with no issues.

    FML, is caliper grinding dangerous?

Never done it. I assume you just grab an angle grinder and have at it.

Depends on how much of the rim was rubbing. I'll let someone else who has actually done it comment.

If you look at your front brakes. They are farely big. When I put my 16's on they barely fit over the caliper. I don't think it's a spacing issue as much as the wheel opening isn't big enough to clear the front caliper.
I have run wheels with 5.71" backspace with 285's on stock suspension with no rubbing. :)
