For me, the investment was well worth it. I found the speakers that’s recommended by other forum members for less than $60, so considering the price, it was well worth the small cost for the improved sound. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Went ahead and ordered these wheels. Found them on sale this weekend this is not my truck. But it’s the look I’ll have some time next week.

Spent a week or two each summer from the time I was 6 to about 25 yrs old at Rodanthe. Nags Head was about 80 miles from where I grew up and quick drive for long weekends was added to that when I hit 16. Wasn’t a Tacoma but old 68 Beetle or Dad’s 64 Chevelle SS. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

What year is your rig? It's not bad at all. Pretty much plug n play. Mine already had the wire harness behind the switch cover. I just had to remove the switch blank and insert the switch, plug her in, and tighten it all back up. Easy as that!

By far one of my cheapest and favorite mod to date. Stole the idea and probably in the minority for using kayak handles. $14 shipped. We’ll see on longevity but they help lift my light arse up with no problems.

I'm glad I'm at the point in life where I can pay in full and not have to worry about about bringing the bank into it.

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding and the new truck. Best to your fiancée.

Yes indeed! With crazy people, displaying a weapon may not deter them and in fact could incite them. You never know. Way too many of these people moving to PDX

As some of you know 11 months ago my wife and I hit the road full time living in our 2019 Tacoma with a Four Wheel Camper Fleet on back.

We were happily camping on the beach in Baja when we realized we had a power problem. Our battery was not getting charged from the truck's alternator anymore. Looking at our SwitchPros 9100 we discovered one of the switch’s wires had been burned.

    zgn4ScVy7VlBQiSasS3keVUN_pEHJ8aQjCH1F7RW_08856879b466e05b4aa6fee0c87fbd65fe8e5e51.jpg

Thinking that the SwitchPros had somehow failed, I sent an email with photos to them and surprisingly got a phone call back from them within a minute from Laura Muertter, the co-owner of SwitchPros! She immediately saw two major installation failings, one was that the SwitchPros ground wire wasn’t directly hooked to the camper battery and two, that an unknown wire (purple arrow in photo below) was drawing power from an unfused portion of the Switch-Pros.

    lhx7gVnI-aP9sylbdW15YXaZj5K0fa99n2ySIu4-_279d9148ece485fba66cfef8adfa08f5e391325f.jpg

She recommended that we take the truck to Aiden James Customs / Sibi Built of Santa Ana, CA. A month later we took the truck into the shop and Wow! There they found that our original outfitter from the Pacific Northwest had installed an insufficient sized wire that charges our camper battery which caused the circuit to burn out

    EP6tWIkIWL9wZ5TeiK1BuZM6DagxSeqZgV3rdWKr_d3c0da3598c1392879f0dc951f19b855547961ab.jpg

He said we were lucky the camper didn’t burn to the ground. They also found that when this original outfitter installed the camper on the flatbed, they pinched a wire that had rubbed through to the bare wire. He also discovered that the unfused mystery wire had been hooked up by the installer of our Scheel Mann custom seats for the seat heaters, not the original outfitter. This also could have overloaded the SwitchPros.

    Before Aiden James Customs:

    After Aiden James Customs:

They even cleaned up the install using a SD Off-road mount tray! @Jason TRD OR
even had time to do a tune, it’s worth it!

I cannot recommend Aiden James Customs / Sibi Built enough. Even though their shop was completely full of Tacoma’s and Fourunners they helped us out, did top quality work, and quickly got us back on the road at a very reasonable price. I’m also super impressed with the customer service at SwitchPros!

Wow. That is pretty scary, but a great save. The new install looks much better, too.

added extra tie downs in bed, the tool-less 32oz cupholder mod, fog lights in process...
Installed a few goodies from Taco Garage! Love the DMM with the slim grip phone holder so far. Quicker and easier to install than I thought it would be. Wife loves the taco sauce only decal she thinks I'm so funny.

Feeling the heat after this install but worth it and pretty easy.

SS3 Pro SAE fogs with a a shirt as an added gift.

Will need to do some adjustments later when I can get a level area but pretty happy with these.

Yes it was scary. The sad part is the original install “Overlanding” shop in WA/OR was highly rated and therefore I trusted their expertise. Should trusted but verified

That is a cool switch Colonel. Thanks for explaining the pictures to an old Air Force mechanic.

Subdued the lock/unlock beep tone by partially covering the emitter hole with electrical tape. Super easy, the emitter is a little grey box mounted right in front of the battery.
