Anyone know what 2 wires in the overhead console are for the switch illumination? Ive got my harness all made for my 4 switches up there, but I need to tap into the illumination to light them up.

Everything ive found searching leads me to the bed lighting switch, but I see no point running 2 wires all the way down there when the console has them already.

If I recall the bed lighting switch, purple was + and green was illumination, but dont quote me, that may not translate to the overhead.

If it were me I would just use a tester but everyone is different.

Sweet thanks, and it shows the PN so I can build a adapter harness so I dont need to cut into any wires.

@caribe makaira Wondering if you have any advice. I used a t-harness (made by a member here on the forum) to draw power from pins 13 and 14 in order to illuminate two overhead switches. The switches have two LED inside - one illuminates with the headlight switch, and the other illuminates when the switch is in the "on" position. The headlight LEDs on both switches illuminated just fine, but they were flickering as if there was a bad connection. When I would turn then on, one of the second LEDs would illuminate, but the other one would not (but the relay connected to that switch did engage). I tried to troubleshoot, but with a single ground input on the switch, that could really only mean that the light inside the switch is bad. After a minute or two of trying to troubleshoot, all of the illumination within the overhead console went out, including the switches I installed as well as the factory items.

I checked for voltage at Pins 13 and 14, and there is none. However, all of the switches in the dash and the left side panel are still illuminated, and I checked every fuse under the dash (with a continuity meter) to verify that none of them are blown. Is there another location where the overhead illumination circuit is fused? Or can you think of any other reason that I wouldn't have voltage at pins 13 and 14?

No other illumination source in the R44 connector.
Remove the T, bring back to OEM, Test illumination, report back.
Pin in harness, wire to pin, could've failed. Bad crimp.

I removed the t-harness and returned everything to stock, but still have no overhead illumination circuit. I'm not sure how to de-pin the R44 connector to verify if the wire crimp is still good at the pin. I was thinking about removing the plastic a-pillar cover and checking for voltage at the next harness junction along the pillar.

@caribe makaira I think I found the issue... Failed crimp within the Meso puddle pod harness inside the a pillar. I don't know how to de pin the harness and fix the crimp, but I'm working to figure that out.

I'm sure they would take care of me if I emailed. That said, I purchased the puddle lights used, so I don't have an original invoice/order number. Plus, the waiting game for a new harness (especially if they aren't just sitting on the shelf, as the puddle pods have been out of stock for ages) would be agonizing. I'm just going to figure out how to de-pin this dang thing. :D

    Thanks for your assistance!!!

So you can confirm it’s not the R44 harness I sent you? I have a couple hundred of those in the world without issue including one on my own truck. Just to be sure, could you send it back so I can test it and make sure my harness is having good continuity at all pins? I’ll send you one I know 100% works and pay shipping. I don’t want to mess around with any of that shit, so let’s eliminate factors.

Ah gotcha. Well @JFanaselle if you want to troubleshoot and send me the R44 anyway I’ll get one in the mail Tuesday just to cover the base.

For IN1 Caribe do you have the P/N for the terminals? Can’t tell if they’re the Yazaki 025 or TE. I would assume Yazaki given the bigger gauge is clearly 090II. If I can get the part number I’ll make a wire repair kit and ship that out. Or @MESO can send a replacement. Either way.
