I hope to find a Deka for the Camry. It's the original battery from 2015 and I'm fearing the end is near. I'd like to drive it more to work as it gets better gas mileage, but I hate to call for a jump at work at 11pm at night. I'd like to replace it now, but the cheapskate in me is fighting me :annoyed:

I think what has helped me is I have cleaned and protected the terminals since new. Couple years ago there was some slight corrosion on the hold down bracket. That was cleaned and protected. The terminals have never shown a spec of corrosion. If you can stop the oxygen from getting to it you're good...

Not a bad brand. Always had good luck with JC.

I've been using that red spray battery post varnish stuff , bought a can of it years ago and u just use a little at a time , last forever. CRC is the brand, but sure there is others.

I give the terminals a spritz of WD-40 every oil change, about the only thing I use WD for.
Anything greasy on the terminals always ends up on you or your clothes.

Started out with lithium grease but went to Fluid Film. Yea it's greasy, but better than crusty terminals. We use the CRC red spray on the 36V tugger batteries at work and it has mixed results. I'm guessing it gets washed off when we water the batteries and they have the occasional leaky auto filler. I'm one of the few guys who actually repairs those fillers so the tuggers I get in a normal PM cycle seem to be ok. Some guys won't clean or protect the batteries, but honestly it's the easiest time you'll have on a work order. Might be why they leave alot of them to me, dammit!

They turn kind of dull blackish with the WD 40 and that seems to be it, they don't corrode and the pinch bolt always comes loose.

I serviced a lot of batteries at the old job, it is a lot easier to just get in your routine and keep them serviced rather than need to fix what fails. Some guys just never seem to figure that out. :notsure:

Or using anti-seize on something that may come apart later. I had to take a motor/gearbox off something this week and it came off with the utmost ease. To my surprise the shaft into the gearbox slid right off. Low and behold it was anti-seized. Who knows, I may have replaced it myself, but we have been replacing so many in the past year I can't remember. But, on re-installation I slathered the Hell out of the thing as we used an experimental drive roller that I'm pretty sure isn't gonna work out. Who gets to change that out, yea probably yours truly...

Damn straight, never-seize is your friend -- but the job isn't complete until you get the stuff on your clothes. :annoyed:

Good morning fellow Pennsyltuckyvanians and welcome to the Monday holiday... for those who get to celebrate yet again. Went to watch a fireworks display that a local family puts on. Huge aerial fireworks pretty much solid for 40 minutes. I can't imagine what it cost them. One of the best displays I've ever seen.

I need to cut grass today and also finish caulking the mower garage so we can start painting. Nice to have two days without rain.

    STay well and safe!

On the bright side, traffic was even lighter than normal at 4am.

Back at murder inc for another boring day of non-production work.

Given the Chance I will get a East Penn Battery Second 1/2 price most times it is a blemish on the case.

Nice to be close to the factory store.

Every time I go there another huge building is being built .
