Do you (or anyone else lurking here) hunt in Virginia?

I took a job traveling between schools and the main ones I’ll be at are 1 in Kentucky 3 in Virginia and 2 in North Carolina.

I’m thinking it makes the most sense for me to end up hunting in Virginia and maybe one other state. Trying to figure out if I can bow hunt all season or just oct - nov. asp trying to decide if it is worth 150$ for a bear tag if one walks out in front of me.

Yes I hunt in VA..we have a ton of NF,State forest etc... deer densitys arent as high there for lack of food..BUT some of the biggest bucks here in Western VA come from them..we lease mtn land and alot of our people go way back and hit NF..shoot me a pm if you want anytime:thumbsup:

Oh and yes you can bow hunt all season plus urban archery in the towns opens earlier and closes later than rest of the state.some really nice bucks in the urban archery towns. over time they have annexd surrounding farm land so lots of food, limited access and bow only equals nice deer.

Fishing today and saw this little guy stuck on a branch. Looks like it got washed downstream and drown and got stuck on the limb when the water receded. :(

Saw this baby deer at my cousins today. Started to run before I could get my camera on.

I watch hunting shows before bed most nights. I see them using these quiet bikes, I know they’re sponsored by them and didn’t have to pay, saw one the other day in a store and it was over $5,000.00 what average person can justify that cost to deer hunt? I don’t know of any.

My buddy and his uncle have Quietkats that we use on elk hunts. It’s pretty darn nice to be able to cruise under cover of night and get to your spot for sun up / haul quarters out with them to get back to camp for the quad. But they have the money for em…. Myself not so much.

Some states they aren't legal on National forest. I dont know what blm says about them either. Not legal in Mt. They would be badass though. There's a spot I want to go that's about 7 miles in on a moderately maintained trail. Couldnt imagine taking an elk back there on foot. Then getting it out solo. Bike would make a HUGE difference

Don't get me wrong, they would be a great asset getting to places like that, especially for people out of shape, bad knees, etc. The cost is what I was in shock about
