This is interesting. Although I think I’d tackle the s1 pods.

Does anyone know if the heated mirrors add any complications for this mod?

    Definitely came out beautiful!!

Did you use the mounting bracket from the light or fab one?

Thanks dude good to know. You've definitely inspired me with this write up. I had to get rid of my ditch lights almost as soon as I put them on. Just didn't like looking at them all the time. This is a great solution.

    Thank you!
I had to lower the side mounting points on the factory bracket because it would have been to high up. The light brackets bottom center hole and one of the side mounting points are both bolted to the mirror housing itself.

    Agreed.
As mentioned by @MESO earlier in the comments it’s great to be able to fold the mirrors forward and backwards to redirect the light.

Ktjo power folding mirrors with integrated ditch lights?

    hahahahhaaa

Seriously, though, with how many choices we have in taillights it might be slick to have mirror options. I honestly wouldn’t mind some bigger ones with more space for lights and integrated convex like the full size truck towing mirrors. Not really needed but will be nicer to have once my shell is on.

Oh, s, we do have options. Kinda ugly but I’ll do some looking.

It just hit me that my mirrors also have those surround cameras. Do you know if that'll get in the way?

    working on it... :-)
I hope to tackle this project myself during the holiday shutdown at our plant. But as little as I will likely use them, I am opting for BDs S1 lights. Should be a little easier to install. Anyone else done this yet with the S1s??

Nice I had this same idea, glad I found this thread by chance. Except I want to mount the light completely inside then inlay plexiglass flush with the cover for the light to shine through.
I had another idea to mount ditch lights in the hole between the mirror and the cab, right above the mirror arm, then somehow make a cover that fits around the light and over the mirror in one piece. Both ideas are a plus for aerodynamic-ability

Since someone else already necromanced this post, I just wanted to say @robmpii and @Tcodyw88 are badasses.
This is TOO sick. Makes hood mounted ditch lights look like hot garbage

This is bad ass. Surprised that no-one has offered this off-the-shelf. You might have a bit of a business opportunity there!

Oh man I SO need to do this!! Still a little unclear on how exactly the s2 bolts/mounts inside. I feel like the 1st post from Rob is missing some pics. And he hasnt been online since '21 :(.
I'm pretty handy at diy stuff so I should be able to figure it out myself. If/when I ever get around to this that is. Sooo many other things on my bucket list.

The Baja S1's fit in the mirror space like a glove! I think these are definitely easier to fit compared to S2's

Honestly pretty minimal trimming to make them fit, took about 30 minutes to get them mounted and aimed. Had to strip the wire sheath on the baja lights to slide the wires through individually through the mirror grommets. Wires are tight in there but everything fits snug! Time to trim up the mirror housing and get the wiring routed through the annoying door grommets :p
