Do 1st gens share gas cap threads with 2nd or 3rd gen or any other toyotas?

i think mine is damaged and wanted to replace with with one from junk yard

 

Simple to check measure your gas cap threads and measure any used ones you might find.

Another way is check the after market part # is what years your part # works for.

Pray tell what is wrong with your gas cap?

Really going used on something this cheap how many do you plan on bringing home that you might get one that works.

I carry a new gas cap in all my vehicles I tend to drop them at the quicky mart and the roll under a very low car of someone grocery shopping

 

Any Toyota cap from same year as Tacoma will probably fit but it's also a $25 part new.

 

I have a honda cap on my truck...

 

i suspected most japanese vehicles share similar gas caps. prolly comes from the same supplier

 

Anyway, if it is because you are always losing it or afraid to, did you know that there is a holder for the gas cap on the inside of the fuel door?

 

i didn't. the lanyard is broken.is it different from the lanyard?
