OEM Plus (2018 Cement TRDOR), Bikes, and BS

Finally got around to transferring the Pelican I originally had mounted to the Prinsu.

Also picked up Rex from the bike shop.

Decided to do a little function checking my gear in preparation of the upcoming weekend.

Good thing I did, too. The Rotopax Lox mount is garbage. This is the third cylinder I have replaced due to seizing. Unfortunately, now it’s completely seized and I can not unlock it. Which means I cannot deploy my tent because I have to remove the rotopax for it to clear.

while the cans have stood up (so far), these lock cylinders are absolute garbage. I spoke to rotopax customer service who advised me that they are well aware of the issues but had zero intention of fixing the design or improving it.

They offered to send me replacement chlinders (after I sent in the defective ones). This is kind of a dumb deal because the current ones are seized and I cannot get them off.

During my last round with them, they suggested soaking them in WD40 (which I did). But no amount of WD40 will keep the weather out for long.



Anyway, buyer beware. Do not purchase the LOX mounts.

 

Finally got the rotopax off and can now pop the tent. But also picked up a new 23Zero awning from Spirit of 1876 with some alpha rack awning brackets from @upTOPoverland .

 

A friend of mine knows how to make custom micro switchboards and agreed to hook me up to clean up the accessory switch wiring. The board is about 2x2 inches and sealed in epoxy.
