A little something every chance we get.
Rex agrees. Everyone should be at the pool. Or, the beach.

Heaven’s no stay away from the beach. The water is polluted. There are sharks, jellyfish and rip tides. Over exposure to the sun will cause skin cancer.

Oh and we residents will have your car towed if you park in permit only locations.

It’s actually quite entertaining to watch a scofflaw wandering around looking for their car while muttering “I know I left it right here”.

Yes, I know. But the sharks and jellyfish live there. As to the rips and sun there’s not much man can so about them.

The only thing we can have a positive effect on is folks that should be in the asshole parking thread.

Good morning and Happy 4th of July fellow Americans!!!

I rained off and on all day yesterday until about 5 and then it poured for an hour. No outside work done. Lynn and I spent 3 hours demoing the old cedar closet my father-in-law put in the stable. He tried to over-engineer it to keep the mice out. Didn't work but made it a bitch to take down. Pry bars of all sizes, a BFH, a MFH and a LFH, curses galore and lots of sweat equity and it's in the dumpster.

Hopefully today I can get back to caulking and then painting the greenhouse and mower garage. But, then again, it's the 4th so maybe I'll just enjoy the holiday.

Enjoy your day no matter where you are!!!

Good morning. We went to watch a fireworks display that a local family puts on. Huge aerial fireworks pretty much solid for 40 minutes. I can't imagine what it cost them. One of the best displays I've ever seen.

I need to cut grass today and also finish caulking the mower garage so we can start painting. Nice to have two days without rain.

    Stay safe out there!!!

:pccoffee: Good Morning Porch! Hope you all had a great Fourth, and get today OFF! :rain:2" in 1 1/2 hours put me on a rain delay for smoking, but eventually it stopped enough to get it lit - can't rain on that part. For those interested, you CAN modify the 321 ribs to 311, for stay on the bone, but just as tender. Wasn't perfect, but a great compromise.

Might mow, might just Putz. Two more days of might rain on ya', might not.

Never a dull moment around our house. My wife has another colon leakage. Her colon ruptured in 2005, lots of surgeries since then (colostomy, ileostomy, loop ileostomy, takedown. Never quite physically recovered, but limited activity past 10 years.

Distended abdomen, red puffy belly, ya not the first time to this rodeo. We have a joke about three days weekends, and full moons back in EMT days (forty years ago). I wrenched my back with the pergola, so I had EMS transport her to the hospital while I followed. SHe weighs 110 pounds, but the last thing we need is both of us with injuries. They were packed to the fills (three-day weekend). There are always burns, food poisoning, and boating accidents. Bleeding, head injuries, and chest pains always take priority in the ER. Thankfully Covid has subsided so that I could go in with here.

After six hours, finally made admitted. Parked in the overflow (hall wall with a curtain). Her abdomen is swelling and very red. Sepsis. CT scan shows an air/fluid pocket about 27cm long. A fistula from the colon to outside the abdomen wall dumping fluid into a scar tissue pocket. Not our first time dealing with those odd little tunnels that form in the body could have been much worst!

Pumping her full of antibiotics, surgery was yesterday morning, so they have a drain—just a matter to see if this will close itself in a few months (wound care). A ton of scar tissue, history of diverticulitis, life goes on.

Never a dull moment around here (Glad I am still working, but know all too well about the history of medical billing and out-of-network. Sepsis means not much choice other than transport, fix it, stabilize and get back home).
