    thats my point

Yep, soon as you start towing your equipment and that EV range of 300 drops to 80 and you get stuck at a site with no way to charge. You will have wished you went gas.

Now in 10yrs or whatever that is probably not going to apply since charge stations will probably be abundant and hopefully EV ranges would have increased

Well everybody has a different idea of what off road is. When I had my jeep an entire day of hardcore off road in Moab would be maybe 75 miles, usually 50 or less. YMMV. As for reliability, replacing a ICE engine and trans with god only know how many moving parts with a motor and gear reduction with maybe 15 moving parts has got to reduce the chance of failures.

I love the idea. BUT ...
I've seen the videos of cell phones catching fire while being charged. I'm not sure I'd sleep well while my truck was charging in my garage.
    I'd probably prefer a hybrid.

Most EV's have at least 2 moving parts. The motor and single speed trans axle.

At what point is beta testing going to end, we're five years into this program and tesla is no longer the leader in autonomy. Where's the robotaxies that Elon promised in 2020? If one pays for a feature they should get a feature complete car.

Just wait till the west coast hits 10% EV adoption. With Hoover and Oroville running out of water it's going to be a shit show

I believe this theory of yours to be wrong.

I live in the Central Pacific. Here there are no lithium deposits nor oil. The people here who drive Electric cars. Mostly depend on the electricity that is locally generated.
Before they shut down cane production, we had a small coal fired Power Plant. Diesel powered generators is how we get our electricity.
Diesel that gets shipped across the ocean. In a Tanker that is using diesel. Bio fuel gets shipped across the ocean in diesel powered vessels from areas that are clear cutting forest to plant coconut.

As Steve Martin from the Awesome movie "The Jerk" so eloquently stated in a moment of epiphany. " Oh I get it...it's a profit deal"

Which are you? A girl or a beta? Because if you drive a Tacoma you at best have a 6' bed which in the real truck world is just a toy. This is a truck

Pick up truck drivers won't be switching to Cybertrucks. Tesla cars are image vehicles, no pick up driver wants to portray that image.

Yes, I know Tesla has semi truck division. The Cybertruck will not be a cab over Iveco, with a cargo bed.

    Environmental impact????

    Really?

Get yourself educated about the process to mine the Li and to make a Li-ion battery.

Then convince me that EVs are the way to "save the planet".

Here's a "real" truck with a Toyota for scale.

Oh definitely Alpha. Measuring my social status based on my vehicle is not something I engage in.

And with this post I say the thread has gone completely off the rails - see ya'll later
