    Hello all!

Just recently picked up a 2005 DC TRD Sport. Loving this thing. I'm having some issues with the key fob. The fob unlocks the truck and enters panic mode but does not lock. I changed the battery and even ended up picking up two new fobs, programming them and same issue.

The door switch can lock/unlock no problem as can the key (well the teeth are pretty ground down so it doesn't turn to the left anymore).

I've done a search but nothing stands out. One thread said actuator but if that were the case, wouldn't the switch not work too? Another thread said possibly the receiver so just wanted your opinions before I throw money at it.

Does the keyfob use the radio antenna for signal? My radio reception is very poor and I suspect the base corrosion issue I've been reading about.

    Cheers,
    K

Does your key in beeper sound even when the key is removed with the door open?, if it does you need to check the unlock warning switch ( key in switch) in the steering column as it will prevent the remote lock from working if it thinks the key is inserted.

Only other thing that would keep it from locking from the fob that I can think of is a faulty door ajar switch or related wiring, does your door ajar light go out when all the doors are closed?
The fob uses a separate receiver unrelated to the radio antenna.

Just checked that and that's not it either, but good suggestion. So I just hit the button and it locked for the first time EVER with the fob. The lock button also registers going through the programming steps.

    Any other suggestions?

Thats the only 2 things I know of that will prevent it from locking with the remote, everything else is handled by the door control reciever and body ECU.
You may have to find someone with a scan tool that can read body data and see if it's seeing the signal from the remote.
