Things like trees, green plants, grass......etc are the CO2 recycle system.

Many commercial companies are planting trees by the 1000s, like Weyerhauser.

That’s not how supercharging works on a road trip. I have a Model S that has a range of 349 miles fully charged, but I always charge to about 310 miles. On a road trip, you’ll need to stop every 1.5-2.5 hours of driving and charge anywhere from 20-45 minutes. You NEVER charge to 100%, unless the distance that you are attempting to cover in a single stretch requires your full range. Also supercharger locations have more than one charger so having to wait 6-7 hours for a charge would never happen. There are typically at least 4 stalls and there will be one at Harris Ranch with over 100 stalls.

    https://insideevs.com/news/499284/tesla-applied-world-largest-supercharger/

I travel with a dog, so stopping to supercharge every couple of hours is great as it gives me a chance to walk him around and stretch my legs at the same time and usually stumble across something I never would have seen had I not stopped. When I drive one of my ICE vehicles, I find that I stop with the intention of getting that first poop/pee out of him and then jumping back in the car. So typically neither one of us gets any chance to get any activity on a long drive because the focus is “go, go, go”. It all depends on whether you are focused on the destination or the journey.

Is it the smell or explosiveness that turns you off? I'm not sure gasoline is much different in either respect.

Probably the idea of a EDIT lighter than air poisonous gas is my least favorite. Gas smells way better than cat piss, IMO of course.

Ammonia is lighter than air, not heavier. I messed that up

But exactly how often are you smelling whatever fuel your vehicle uses? For most folks I'd say the answer is not very often. Gasoline doesn't smell great and is definitely not good for you. The point is there really isn't much difference aside from ammonia not having a carbon atom to emit when burned.

Having worked around Ammonia myself in commercial refrigeration applications, under no circumstances would I want small portable Ammonia systems roaming the roads.

I guess I'm just having a hard time understanding why you think gasoline is any better or different? In my opinion I don't ever see ammonia becoming part of the fuel mix for passenger vehicles, but if it did I don't think it's inherently any more dangerous.

It is. As someone who is very familiar with both gas and Ammonia, I'll take gas 10 out of 10 times.

Spend some time around both and see if your opinion changes.

Lot of folks here who seem to be convinced that mining battery material is much worse than drilling and burning oil. I suggest that you read up on new tech and mine disposal methods starting with this upcoming battery material producer https://nouveaumonde.group/ . Disclosure, I work for this company and we are pushing quite a few boundaries towards limiting environmental impacts from mining and mineral transformation.

Same happened with the battery in my ICE car when I didn’t drive it for 3 years and only had it on tender. What does that have to do with anything?

This has me thinking a battery operated vehicle will need a replacement battery in three years, and I would rather drive a vehicle with a conventional key.

The link in post #1 is an all time classic and reads something like this....

"We think they are going to produce an EV truck and we think this may be what it looks like......."

    Well, that clears things up!

Many cities have rolling blackouts during peak summer heat due to a shortage of electric power. Now imaging plugging in a few million electric cars. Is there enough Lithium for a few million electric cars? Will the demand for a lithium elevate the price of said vehicles out of reach of the poor? Will we have two classes of commuters? Dirty and clean?will do gooder politicians demand the poor be given 50K electric cars? Do we really want giant windmills everywhere? How about fields and fields of solar panels? I'm betting not in my backyard or my favorite mountain range or not off Martha's Vinyard.

Really? No, really? Cuz my mid size 4 door 5 foot bed 4wd Tacoma hauls me and my son AND all our elk gear to the mountains. Pretty much handles hauling a dozen treestands, packs, bows and dead critters during whitetail season. The rest of the year it hauls bikes, kayaks, camping shit, landscaping stuff, etc.... You know what I don't need. A full size truck. Or a 3rd gen'r telling me what I need or don't need.
