you obviously have no idea what you are talking about. if you actually read the manual it states "87 or higher". not 87 only like you are saying.

To be fair, I think TOYOTA is adding the "or higher" wording to cover their butts. There are many cases of some station operators diluting the fuel to increase profit or cover the rent, buyer should always be aware.

Bottom line is, if you hear constant loud detonation, something is very wrong with the fuel or the truck.

Dude, you seem to have some real reading comprehension problems. Pretty sure anyone else that doesn’t have that problem will notice it as well based on your replies.

Whatever you say guy. I’m obviously wasting my time with you…

Anyone know is Costco premium has ethanol? Or does it just vary with whoever is the local supplier?

Several different trucks ago, several different brands ago, I did a lot of measuring and Volt Spreadsheet Math concerning E85 (yeah this was a bit ago) and premium gas in contrast to regular gas. The E85 had a mileage drop greater than the price drop. The premium indeed got a little better mileage than the regular. However the price increase of the premium was greater than the increase in mileage. This was with a then new 2008 F150 V8 that could use E85. I have not done Volt Spreadsheet Math with my Tacoma. However it does seem that my Tacoma gets better highway mileage with the premium. My best guess is the premium gas allows for the computer to raise the spark timing. To say that there is no difference in the performance between regular and premium I do not think is correct. It is however not enough to offset the price.

Midgrade used to be 10 cents more than Regular, and Premium used to be 10 cents more than Regular. Now spread is close to 50 cents.
Math worked for the 10 cents spread to step up to Midgrade in my Isuzu. I am sure it does not work anymore with an increases price differential.

Sounds good but not true at least in the case of shell gas. shell Nitro+ premium has more additives. See my earlier post.

Giving away your first born seems like the most financially favorable decision. :notsure: "He's your problem now!"

I once filled up with av gas 100LL at a local small airport when getting this stuff for my race bikes. That old 4 banger toyota barely made it home it ran so bad. At any rate i got most of it out for future use in the bikes.

Wait what? Have we been reading the same thread?

It's clear after discussion you should only be using Standard 110 Octane, Leaded Racing Fuel. Yeah sure, its costs a few pennies more, but it "feels" smoother and "accelerates better", ya know?

Nothing goes in my truck except:
    upload_2021-7-6_8-44-11.jpg

I'm surprised your guys trucks can even turn over using the peasant 87 octane.

Only cheapskates! I run nothing but pure nitro race fuel, because I like to live life to the fullest! Only the best for my car.
