He was diagnosed a little more than two months ago with an aggressive, large cell intestinal lymphoma. We had him on a double dose of Prednisolone which sustained him pretty well until three days ago. He stopped eating yesterday, and this morning when I went to Rose's house, he was crying as he laid with his little head propped up against his drinking fountain. I knew we had to take him in for the final time.
Dompy was 16 years, 7 months old.
When the vet saw him and did a cursory exam he said right away that Dompy was suffering.
And when the vet administered the drug, Dompy went down within 15 seconds and the vet said, the sicker they are, the quicker they go:(
Thanks for reading this. Please love your cats a little harder in honor of their little brother Domino.

I'm so sorry to hear that Frank. My condolences buddy. It's so hard taking them to the vet for the final time. You did the right thing. They can't speak for themselves, we have to. He looked like a very nice cat! I'll say a prayer for him.

Sorry for your loss; Try having to put a puppy that’s barely a year old to sleep because she has a rare congenital kidney defect. I know exactly what you’re going through. :(:(:(:(

Sorry to hear that Charlie :( It's the humane thing to do. Always put the animal first, not your feelings. It's very hard, but you'll eventually get over it.

Thank all of you for your kindness! It helps to be lifted up at a time like this by good people with great hearts-thank you again. I'm taking it harder than I thought I would, as Dompy has been such my little best buddy at Rose's house every day. I let that little guy get way into my heart...sometimes animals can really touch you in that way. Charlie I get ya. It hurts and I'm sorry your puppy didn't even get a crack at a long life like Dompy had. I'm grateful he did live a long time for a cat-it's like almost 90 in human years.
I already miss his tiny voice greeting me each time I'd come over.
You see that little squirrel in the above pic where he's rubbing that little mouse on his face? I got him that little squirrel and mouse for Christmas and he just loved the heck out of them. You could stuff catnip into this little pouch inside each of those and he'd rub his face all over them and catch a little high:D
Well I snagged those two toys today to keep around here just to have something of him.

Molly in the back of my Tacoma less than a month after we bought the truck and less than a month before we had to put her to sleep at the age of 15 (November 2009)…

It will be okay, Frank. Takes time, but you did do the right thing. Never doubt that. A pic of my mom's cat, Tiny. They're both in heaven now. :)

As I mentioned , sorry for your loss !!!

Losing a pet is very hard as they become part of the family and very loved !!

This is my cat Gizmo I lost him 4 months ago after he suffered a fatal Aortic thrombosis ( blood clot) . The vet told me there was nothing he could do to save him i had Gizmo put down

I loved Gizmo alot and it was very hard to put him down , he was only 5 yrs old

Also, I got a new friend less than a year after Mandy died, literally a week before the COVID lockdown started…

It’s always hard to lose a pet! They are part of the family!! We lost our Blue Merle border collie last August. The Wife and I still go for walks with her leash.
