I came this close (holds thumb and forefinger almost touching) to hitting a stupid deer on Saturday. I thought I might has touched it but I didn't see anything on my truck. A lucky day.

That sucker took a lickin! all the way to the radiator support! All CAPA Certified parts and paint blend into the doors. Paint the A-Pillars as well if those are paint chips in the photo. Blend them back to the back C pillars on the cab. This could get pricey but by no means a total. Especially in the current market. If the tuck is say $45,000 a total would have to exceed 65-70% of that value. Im thinking insurance will try to nail you on all the cheapest available parts and hit you with about $10,000. Just make sure that when its all back together it looks like it never happened. Seriously. make sure it looks like it did prior to accident. Good luck OP!

Food. Food is their purpose. Grab a bow or a rifle and start thinning the herds.

Don't sweat it, that damage is definitely fixable. Your truck will be back to (almost) good as new in no time. As far as cost, my total wild ass guess would be somewhere in the $15K territory?

    Wild guess of $12k ~ $18k?

Major bummer and hope everything gets fixed correctly.

How far from home were you? Not sure what usually happens in this scenario, will insurance trailer the truck back to your home area or will they fix it where the accident happened? Having just completed a cross country road trip this was a big fear especially considering the number of deer I saw on the side of the road.

Can't. After 60+ years of eating meat, more meat, and more meat the doc showed me some numbers and
said I got a 25% chance of a heart-attack in the next 6 months, and a 50% chance in the next year. He
    gave me 2 choices:
Door number 1. Let him split me wide open like a hot-dog on a grill and replace 3 arteries and hope for the best
Door number 2. Eat a plant-based diet and reverse ( yes reverse ) the damage

After weighing the options... I'll take door number 2.

Been going with Door number 2 the last month and I make these findings...
    It's not that bad
    I actually feel great

Can you shoot 'em for fun ?

Here were some images from a front driver corner impact I was in. Other driver ran a red light and hit me at about 35-40.

    Very similar damage to yours.

The initial quote from the dealership estimator was 12k.

I laughed at the guy and said there's no way.
Turns out I was right after they fixed 'everything' the first time - the adjusted amount was 18k.

After two more trips of me finding shit they didn't fix, the grand total was just shy of 21k.

I really wanted mine to be totalled. It's horse shit that insurance won't reimburse your loss on the value of the truck.

I noticed you mentioned it still drives.obviously don’t drive with no coolant,

repair costs, $4200 first estimate. $5200 supplement #1, $1800 supplement #2, $375 supplement #3 after you have picked up the truck.

That is going to be a pricey repair but in no way a total. Like some others said it's going to need a new weld in radiator support. When you get the truck back definitely be checking for any exposed bare metal which is easily missed on complex structural components by body shop painters (ask me how I know) :annoyed: And make sure the actual repair matches the repair estimate. Good luck :D

Won't cost any more than your deductible.

Assuming you have full insurance. I don't recall if deer strikes come under collision or comprehensive....... I'm thinking under comp.....
