Seriously! Damn! Glad you didn't crush your throat!

I clotheslined myself once by taking a "shortcut" while leaving my shooting range. I was the only one there and decided to cut through the property, rather than follow the road. Totally didn't notice the wires running from the clubhouse to the metal shotgun targets until they hit my helmet, throat, and shoulders. Lucky I was only going about 5 mph but it still pulled me half off the bike and my throat clenched up for a minute or so...

Metal wire would have been bad. Ive read stories of wire decapitating people. Glad that wasnt the case for you.

I'm unfamiliar with what that is. A mishapen rod?

Nice 250ish mile ride today to Winchester, VA just to take a picture of a statue of a dog humping his owner's leg.

Actually the man portrayed is Admiral Byrd, explorer of Antarctica and his loyal dog Igloo. Bonus location for the Butt Lite GT I'm taking part in.

My wife is definitely smarter than me…

Drove the 4Runner today since we had the whole fam with us.

Came home to this on my startup screen and immediately said what is this technology crap? Why would I want a bike that can lock me out like it’s a phone? The dealer is closed, I won’t be able to ride it 100 miles home tomorrow. Bro this is so stupid….. etc.

Wife say, “you have 4Runner keys in your pocket. Your bike keys are inside.”

Bro, turns out she’s a genius and I need to problem solve before I complain haha.

    Happy 4th, everyone! :)

Haha. On BMWs it just flashes a little red light and does nothing if you don't have the key. With the key it just turns on, no keypad to type stuff on.

Im used to Dual Sports that haven’t changed since the 80s so I was a little hesitant on the tech on a bike! So far just me that’s the dumb one haha.

It was very unexpected!. He bought it new in 2003. His hip is getting bad and he's a tad overweight. He just cant swing his leg over it anymore. That and hes mid 70's.

Im 54 and have only owned one other cruiser type. 1981 Yamaha XV920RH. Which he also bought new and sold to my bro who sold it to me and I sold it back to the bro.

    Super odd bike.

My bike has something similar. It’s keyless and if I don’t have the fob with me (or the battery does) I can enter a 6 digit code to start the bike. Kind of a cool feature. Not sure if it works the same way with the Indian.

I’ll have to try that out sometime in case I ever lose the key or something on a trip.

LOL! Man, if you ever head this way again, let me know! Be happy to "host" you for a break or something!

I've spent many hours inside that building (for legit and illegit reasons!) and do wish they'd have made a less embarrassing commemoration for the man and his dog...

Damned shame that new bike will be sitting like that for a whole month. I would be willing to "bike sit" and continue the break in on your behalf while you are unavailable. Just PM me and I will tell you where to drop it off for safekeeping.

That was the closest bonus left for me right now. There are some things in Front Royal that I want to get to later in the season though. I won't ask what your business was in the judicial center. LOL. Several years ago I had to drive down to Staunton for a "legal matter" thanks to one of VA 's finest. Fortunately a level headed magistrate saw the stupidity of it and dismissed the case. Sometime if we meet in person remind me about it and I'll tell you the story. Too much BS to type up.

Statue isn't actually that bad. It looks more like the dog is just standing on its hind leg for his mater to pet him. Cool memorial anyways. Not as funny to me as getting a pic of the headstone for gay Hitler in an Ohio cemetery.

Love a good "dismissal" story! I've had so many speeding tickets! Fortunately, none have been for truly "extra" legal speeds but I've NEVER been given a break, even when my wife called me at work to say she had started going into labor. Got pulled for 11 over and cop was a straight up a$$. Brought my daughter's birth cert to show the judge why I was speeding and he reduced, but did not dismiss...

Have you gone through Fort Valley? If I'm feeling real adventurous, I'll do a Fort Valley/Luray/Skyline Drive loop but I need a more relaxed riding position before I start looking at 250+ miles!

Not familiar with Fort Valley but did Skyline Drive years ago. That's the reason I had to go to Staunton later BTW. Skyline is nice but low speed limits and lots of traffic when I did it. Scenic enough but not really all that interesting. Blue Ridge Parkway further south is a lot more fun.

Hey, if you can make it all the way to South Dakota I’ll let ya charge the battery up a bit.
