Hang tough Tom & wife. My dad had similar issues after colon cancer at 59. He made it to 94, a bit bumpy sometimes but he carried on.

    Good morning everyone!!

Sending good thoughts for an easy and complete recovery for your wife, Tom. And, I hope your back is on the mend, too.

Beautiful day yesterday except the wind speeds on the ground kept us from a two balloon flight last night. Finished caulking the mower garage and cut the grass while Lynn started painting the front of our garage where we had some wood replaced. Afterwards, I helped Lynn finish up the painting. Lots of ladder climbing. Ugh.

On to painting Lynn's greenhouse today - at least start on it - and the mower garage. We'll supposed to have afternoon thunderstorms for the rest of the week so that will limit the painting. Looking forward to finally getting those two buildings done....at least on the outside.

    Stay safe!

Reminds me of a story with my best friend Bob, he was a door gunner/crew chief in Vietnam. Bob worked the thirs shift at the Georgetown Bell System Central Office in DC, I went down to visit him on his lunch hour one Friday night. The parking lot had a chain across the entrance. This guy in a Lincoln drives up, takes off the chain and parks his car. Bob get out of his car and tells him you cannot park here it is a tow a way zone. They guy says he can park anywhere he wants and left. Bob calls the towing service and has the car towed. So we wait for him to come back and he goes berserk because his car was towed. Entertainment is where you find it. BTW when a car is towed in DC it goes to a central impound lot where if there is anything of value in the car it is removed never to be seen by you again.

We had a wonderful 4th. I will post up some pictures later on today or tomorrow.

:rain:Good Morning Porch! Going to have a lot of long, thick grass to deal with this week - too wet to mow twice. Might be dry by Friday!

Go for those flex numbers Ken! Some more Karma for you and the wife Tom! Have a good day everyone.

    Mornin'...

We finally found some hummingbird feeders that we like, and cheap, at Wally World. Perch, wide neck for cleaning, and the bottle isn't so huge. But they have an odd double slit configuration for the birds to sip from. We hung one up and the birds pretty much avoided it. The wife asked me to drill a centered, round hole, and now the birds use it more than the others. So we picked up three more yesterday, and I drilled them this morning. We go through about fifty pounds of sugar in a summer feeding the hummers and orioles.

Lynn and I baked ourselves in the sun today and got her greenhouse pretty much done on the outside. We need to stain the front rafter tails and silicone caulk the outside of the windows (except for the large upper one - I did that before I started painting). Inside, I need to fill the cracks in the concrete pad and put up the shelves she wants - and hang an exhaust fan.

Tomorrow, I hope to get the mower garage painted.

    Afternoon all:
Looking good Mark, now you need to get into what Kurt did with his, that should give you something to do in your spare time!

Thought I was at a zoo this morning, first there was a spike buck out in the yard, then a doe and her 2 fawns crossed the road in front of me, then a single doe crossed further down the road, then there was a goose walking on the sidewalk on a bridge, then coming home I saw 2 turkeys in a yard, critters were moving.

I'm always looking for animals when I'm out in the wild. I haven't seen a cougar yet, but it's on my bucket list.

I did see a wolverine a couple of years ago. Most of the people I tell don't believe me, but they caught one about the same size on camera about 120 miles north of me just last week. That was an animal I never thought I'd see. Not even on the bucket list.
