When accelerating the truck runs ok from 0-15 then once it hits that mph it starts to shake and feel like I’m losing power and has trouble getting to 50+ mph. Then when I’m over the range it runs ok again. Same issues when I start to decelerate, once it’s in between 50-15mph the truck starts to shake. I can feel that the engine is struggling to climb in speed. It is a 2008 Taco with about 120k miles. Anyone have any suggestions on what it might be or if you’ve had similar problems please let me know. Thanks

Oh there will be some mods all right
My first thought is try giving the mass airflow sensor a cleaning.

A friend suggested the same thing. Gonna give it a try this afternoon.

Haven't had that issue in my Taco, but a former vehicle did almost the exact thing when one of the ignition coils went out. Are you throwing any codes?

This sounds pretty similar to what I was feeling when my torque converter took a dump. Under hard acceleration it felt like the truck was shaking/bouncing/hesitating, then it would go away as I gained speed.

Just something to check. Pricey repair if you can’t do it yourself.
