Toyota sells the most EV and ICE cars in the world because of long research and development. I'd rather they do it right and wait than rush and have it not be reliable.

its also an extremely shallow view to think that everyone driving ICE is the major cause of green house emissions. its mostly Chinese factories that put out the most emissions because they don't give a shit about regulations.

I would think they have enough experience with electric motors and batteries, but the narrative of waiting to do it right falls apart when one looks at a 3rd gen aka the 2.5 gen

Cars are not the only cause, they don't help either. Reducing ICE vehicle emissions with one that has 0 emissions is kinda a no brainer how it will eventually help the air and climate humans live in.

I don't feel guilty about burning fossil fuels, someone has to do it. If it's a concern of yours maybe a Tacoma isn't the best choice. The EV craze is just an out of sight out of mind problem. The I can't think any further than my own driveway of my 2500sq foot house that me and my spouse live in with a fur baby in Phoenix with the A/C and pool pump humming away.

In the mean while in some less developed country they toil away to dig up the elements required to build these vehicles, as the wind towers chop up migrating birds a few states over. IMO blood diamonds won't have anything on lithium and rare earths. Nothing we do in the western world is sustainable or equitable for the planet.

It's about virtue signaling at the coffee shop as Chad drives away with your GF in his Raptor towing a wake boat.

Not a fan of an all electric utility vehicle (i.e. truck). Further, (from what I've read) there is a great deal of environmental damage done mining the lithium for the batteries....not sure that damage is offset vs. the emissions from a gasoline engine.

Regardless, it's bound to happen. I would imagine Toyota would put out a quality vehicle as the seem to always do.

Transportation sector accounts for 24% of global emission, and ~75% of that is from road transport. So road transport accounts for something like 15% of global emissions. Even if we can reduce global road emissions to 10%, the amount saved would be equivalent to the entire emissions from Russia.

its all just big corporations pushing this EV bulls- down our throats because they want us all to feel bad for our actions while they dont even blink an eye at the pollution they produce. if they can just convince us that the world is ending because of OUR actions and not THEIR actions then they can just blame us and say "we told you so" as they drive off in their G6 to some clean air island with a bunker.

its always about making the little man feel bad. because "its starts with you, if only you could just be a little bit more green in everyday life then the world will be a better place and together WE can stop climate change"
    or something to that effect

Only man is arrogant enough to think he can control the climate. The genie has been out of the bottle for well over a 150 years any change we expect in the positive isn't going to fade away like a summer storm.

I think you meant to say “only man is arrogant enough to think that their actions have no impact on the planet”.

Will India, China, Honk-Kong, Russia, etc to switch to EV?
How much of that Global 15% is US share? I bet a whole lot less than transport emissions from China, Indua, Russia, etc.
Bringing manufacturing back to US will do more to lower emissions than forcing a switch to EV. If we do not ship raw materials to China, make stuff in plants with no chimney scrubbers and then ship them back, we would save a lot of fuel and emmissions.

BTW by cancelling the Keystone pipeline we increased CO2 emissions too, since oil will be shipped to US on freight trains and to China (the alternate market for Canadian oil) in tankers, instead of less green gas producing pipeline.

I never said that so quit it. If we stopped burning fossil fuels today the genie is already out of the bottle. In simple terms earth is fucked so carry on.
