Ridden that far once before......Sadly not enough vacation time to do it again right now.

I have the quick release Pitbull wheel chock and a few D-ring anchors bolted to the floor of my trailer. Works pretty well for the occasion haul.

went out for a ride on the 4th, figured I'd celebrate freedom with the most freeing thing I can do. passed some harley dudes and was pleasantly surprised to get a wave back haha...always heard they're the least likely to reciprocate.

I definitely seem to have picked good gear, because despite the 85 degree heat and starting to sweat as soon as i got my jacket on, once I got moving I didn't even notice. Got up to mild freeway speeds (no freeway yet though) and man was it fun. Taking her out for another spin tonight after work.

Any recommendations for a good sap/bug cleaner for the helmet?

It won’t make any company rich, and I’m sure there are better options, but I use warm water and a rag or paper towels and try to get it right away before they become cement.

99% of the time I use the same. I'll saturate a microfiber in hot water, then let it sit on the helmet/visor/whatever part I'm cleaning for a few minutes. Softens up all the bugs and makes them very easy to remove without using anything harsh. If somethings being really stubborn, I'll usually just use very diluted simple green, and even then try to get it off ASAP followed by a water rinse. I don't trust most chemicals to not etch or degrade the plastic.

Depends on the visor and helmet company as well. Some have fancy coating and material, others just basic venting to deal with fog, so I steer away from chemicals same reason as you. I’m sure there’s good stuff out there. I just like good enough for free haha

Hydrogen Peroxide is great for removing bug residue. It breaks down proteins.

Used to have a spray bottle with HP and water mix. Spray let it soak and it breaks them down pretty quick…

Beautiful place. Our good friends just moved to Hermosa area and we helped them move in. I keep telling my wife we should go check on them, but I’d be lying if it wasn’t half so I can ride from flat eastern SD to the Black Hills for some fun as well :D

We were actually in Hermosa at my sisters haha. Took Cobb Rd to the park, then back to our cabin in Custer. Originally from Sturgis.
