Was looking at the Ford Raptors and thought that Toyota should go all out on a truck like Ford did. What your guys opinion? Should Toyota build a truck like that stock? or is it better if people build their own trucks?? Maybe another feature with the TRD offroad package?

The closest thing they came to doing something like this was the one built for Sema a few years ago with independent front and rear suspension. I doubt they will actually put something like that in the market and mass produce it.

even the Rubicon is more expensive than its constituent components. Most everybody screws it up when they build it themselves, even if they have pros put the parts on, But when you pull your head out you can do better, cheaper. THe raptor, I shopped, but didn't get too far into it. Basically a plastic clad over powered f-150 with A-trac. More of a desert cruiser. Though the reviews say that the 4wd works like it should.

If toyota wanted to make an off road package, they would de-soccer mom the FJ, but with modern DOT regs, its hard to make a factory off road vehicle much less market it. Hell you can't buy a sports car now-a-days and they're much more reasonable to commute with for the average person.
Probably why there's only 2 or so off road vehicles sold in the US, unless you're counting the jeep jk, which is fair I suppose in most trim levels.

At least the jeep from the factory comes with Dana 44s front and rear plus the options(rubicon) of front and rear lockers, sway disconnects and a 4.1 transfer case

Not to mention my buddy has one with a 3 inch lift and was able to stuff 35s under it with no rubbing issues

I heard that AEV makes the high boy kit and you are able to fit 35s with no lift and 37s with a 3 inch I believe

They can't please everyone. They're going to make a truck that'll be purchased by majority of the people.

Everyone on this forum wants everything.... A rockcrawler, a sand runner, a mud bogger, a daily driver, a gas mileage saver, a mall crawler, a towing & hauling monster, a drag racer, a autocross runner, a cushy car-like truck, and they want all the accessories & add-ons possible which will drive the costs up.

C'mon people!! If you don't like our tacomas the way they are....then go buy something else!!!

your right, they cant please everyone, solid front axel would be nice, and front locker would be even better imo but i think its cool that companies are starting to sell stock trucks with these mods already on them, Ford Raptor deffinatley has flaws and LT is not for everyone, but its a start

TRD Off road package should be revised to include the following in addition to what it already has,

    1. Solid front axle
    2. Locker for both front and rear diffs (if you get a 4X4 version)
    3. Get rid of the damn chrome! Either color match the grill and rear bumper, or paint flat black to match mirrors and door handles.
    4. Pre lifted 3" with fox or king or icon coil over suspension kit.
    5. Get rid of the rugged fails, and have it come stock with BFG AT or Goodyear wrangler AT's

This is for the TRD off road package or maybe call it the rock warrior like the tundra's have.

WELL SAID!!!!! Pick your poison and live with it...I like the softer suspension. Damm thing rides better than the 2009 Honda Accord Coupe I sold for it...and is just as quiet, Hondas are notoriously loud re roadnoise
