Wanted: Short Bed Topper (sellers adhere to BST rules!)

Looking for MGM 3rd Gen DCSB shell. Located in SE Idaho.

 

Deciding to sell my shell pictured. Have done zero research though, what do kinds like this typically go for (fair price, not looking to get top market value)?

 

Came with my Taco i bought in 19, im assuming its 2018 or even 2017. It is carpeted inside, screened windows, light connection works great, been sitting in storage since earlier this year. It's located in South Seattle/Kent.

 

Manual, have two keys for the locks. Found a pic when i first got it, the Leer sticker on back window is removed properly.

 

More than I thought, is that a fair price or on the high end for used?

 

Any short bed shells for sale around DC? Preferably cement but any color will do. Willing to drive for the right deal. Thanks guys.

Nah, that’s the price you set for a quick sell! That cap new was probably 16-1800 at least depending on location so a fair used sale is 12-1400 based on previous numbers. Most of the ppl looking for used caps seem to be wanting to find unicorn pricing (900-1k) is just that. Selling a cap for 200-400$ cheaper than new is a good deal for both parties. Granted condition does play it’s part here too.

now things to consider are is the buyer doesn’t have to wait long deliveries for a new build especially with all the delays across the board and that cost of everything across the board has increased so it may even cost more now for new than it did 2 yrs ago. Both those are in your favor and even at the 12-1400 mark would be a deal IMO

That’s a leer 100R. Retail right now for it is 2,000 installed. If it’s in perfect shape you could still get 1,400-1,500 for it

I think it’s just realistic. And if new it’s 2k my suggested used value would adjust to 14-1600 based on condition.

the unicorn pricing happens for mainly 1 of 3 reasons 1. Seller DIDNT buy the cap but came with the truck and just doesn’t like it or no longer have truck 2. It’s in poor condition 3. It’s 10+ years old. Now there can always be an anomaly but buyers should be more realistic and adjust expectations. Not trying to say all buyers are like that but it seems 50% off +/- is whats fair to some and then will try to hit you with a … it’s a 5 hr drive so let’s take a couple Hundo off or it’s not my color and will cost me this to paint. Honestly not the sellers problem lmao. The drive will likely still be a deal, painting might be cost prohibitive unless buyer just diy or bed liner on the cheap (black caps will look decent on all colors. I rocked one on white for about 10 yrs). To give examples on unicorn pricing- the black cap I bought on last truck was a 8-10 yr old truck can’t remember yr cap was bought but that hits #3, it was in ok condition so that touched #2 and seller sold truck and this had been taking up space and needed it gone ASAP so that takes #1 . Hit it on all 3 marks It was either 350 or 450… like hitting the lottery. That was my 1st cap and when I got the taco I needed another ASAP so bought new this time.

when I get some personal things taken care of I’ll be ordering that smart cap and when delivered sell my current are cx standard options (price will likely be 1500)
