Well last night I moved the arms forward another half inch. 2 spacers towards the firewall/1 towards the front.

I had to increase the preload a few spins to gain my ride height back. Thanks again to @Airdog for coming by with his alignment tool.

We ended up setting the caster at 4.5° and camber at -.5° We did have to flip the forward cam over to adjust inboard more. To even up the caster we had to bring my camber back in as I was shooting for -1°.

I think if the arm was pushed all the way forward, I can get a more aggressive alignment. Though this works for now and may end up right where I want it if it settles out more.

Can’t wait to get this rear end redone to lower it down some. 95A5BB30-3B06-4612-8A6B-03F02DBC306E.jpg

I believe top out spring is the technical term. Unless they are talking about a spacer that actually limits the travel. I know ADS uses a big top out spring on their oem replacement shocks that makes it very difficult to remove the springs. Without the spring on it would appear that they are only 4” stroke when in reality they are 6”

I’m assuming that spring must be internal? Not sure how I feel about something like that considering it’s likely going to cost you a whole new shock should it ever fail. I know lots of guys rave about ADS but I just had a real bad experience putting some on a 5th gen T4R. It was enough for me to likely never do business with them.

They stopped doing the internal spring as far as I know. I don’t think it’s worth having personally.

    Customer service or fitment?

I was making a joke, lol. They are indeed talking about a spacer that limits travel internally.

I swapped springs on a set of oem replacement ADS not too long ago and I didn’t notice anything different

They’ve been doing it in motocross rear coil overs for decades. It’s there just to help with top out forces. Internal spacers have been used for just as long to limit stroke on all sorts of shocks.

What was the poor experience with ADS if you don’t mind me asking?

100% both. Not even close to King or Fox in the fitment department. Hoses oriented wrong, missing parts, wrong parts, wanted you to send a literal wood lag bolt through the frame etc….

Been about a year and a half since we ordered the shocks for my neighbors so they could have stopped doing it since then. Was just difficult to get the spring off without a proper spring compressor tool.

Sheet metal self tapper for the rear resi mounts. Not their best idea in my opinion but it works. I’d rather run some of the weld on ones from kartek.

Not to mention the RF resi being slammed into the washer res. It was bad. Took like 15 hours to install shocks lol. And that was on a lift and everything.

Edit: them weren’t self tapers lol. They were straight up lag bolts. If I recall it was for the front. Not knocking them one bit, now that they are on he really does like them. But a bolt on kit, shouldn’t be that difficult lol. I’ve just been insanely impressed with everything I’ve gotten from king. It fits absolutely flawlessly, and if I’m going to spend that kinda money on bolt on stuff that’s what I like.

Well as a friend of a friend of a friend and acquaintance of a few of the guys over there I will forward on the fitment issues and concerns. Definitely not the experience I had with my neighbors 3rd gen Tacoma oem stuff early last year. Other than the self tappers for the rear resi mounts that is. Which were definitely self tappers for his. I know they were looking for assemblers earlier this year so maybe some bad batches got through on a newbie or something. Not really an excuse though

Either way I’m glad your buddy is happy with the performance. I was thoroughly impressed with my neighbors once we got it all dialed in. Been a while since I had driven a “stock” mid travel oem replacement truck though.

Pretty quiet in here, so I may as well share my whoopsies over the weekend. Fiancé and I decided to do some “exploring”. Needless to say I’m reminded why I hate mud.

When you make 37's disappear you done messed up. Luckily a friend was close by and came to the rescue. I then spent 6 hours cleaning the thing.... I will say, the truck got an absolute thrashing over the weekend and the slide rack is still doing its job.

Forest opened up yesterday after being closed for a few weeks due to fires. Heading out this weekend for sure though

It was a hot weekend. I laid on a creeper, pressure washer wand in hand and went to town. It wasnt pretty but its definitely clean!

Not having a long wand on the end lets you really get into all the nooks and crannies.

Yesterday when cleaning up I thought about bringing out my little 27" tall flex ramp so I could just sit there and wash the bottom. I didn't feel like dragging it out though.
