When you guys put your trucks in 4 low does the truck start beeping inside? I'm new to this knob turning thing to engage 4wd so I didn't know.

I'm putting the truck in neutral and going from 2 hi, then to 4 hi, then to 4 low. I've not actually used the truck in 4 low any, but just fooled around turning it on so i'll know how when time comes. It just seems like it shouldnt beep the entire time. That would get annoying

If it's beeping, it hasn't properly engaged

If you have a manual trans, make sure you push the clutch pedal in when putting it into 4 lo.

If it beeps you need to try it again. If you simply open your glove box take that booklet thingy out that is in there and read about how your 4 lo works it will tell ya! Don't mean to sound harsh...

The owners manual helps with on hand training.

Put it in 4hi FIRST and make sure it's engaged i.e. the 4wd dash light stops blinking and stays solid ON. This often requires you be moving and baby the gas a bit. Once 4hi fully engaged, stop, put trans in neutral, and THEN switch to 4lo. There should be no more beeping and you can pull that semi out of the ditch.... :D

The beeping is stating you FAIL, please try again. My floormats were keeping me from depressing the clutch deep enough and I was getting the fail noise. :(
