Hmmm, not knowing the building or parking lot of the place, may be an out to left field suggestion....

Maybe a possible "Coffee and Trucks" meetup location...
Since it seems like they are so highly recommended and experienced by a allot of our members ,
Maybe they would have a tech available to quickly look at some things members have been meaning to ask/gripe about, do a few aligments, book appointments whatever, hookup to a scanner..
I'm sure a few members can figure out some things they need looked at.
Roll out a BBQ and strippers and write it off as "Advertising/Promotional events" ...

I ain’t going near Jane & Finch. I went to high school in downtown Woodbridge in the early 80s and that area was nasty back then:eek:

We used to go to the drive-through five and dime place:fingerscrossed:

That’s when I learned about oregano

Well that has the advantage that we could bring lawn chairs and watch the Bum fights and the Crackhouse raids, maybe if we are lucky we'll see a driveby too.

Lol in all seriousness that area has a much worse reputation than what it really is,
We did a main service upgrade and ran new sub-service conduit runs for all those big apt buildings up the road at Chalk-Farm a couple years ago. So we got to spend some time in one of the more notorious parts of that area. I think the downtown / North end of Hamilton is more dangerous than that area.

In the time we were there, only had a couple small incidents (well besides the ones with the other trades)

One was an apartment with an unusual tenant...
(skip next paragraph if you are eating ,or afraid of PTSD lol)

Imagine a 220Lb short very fat and sweating,
balding, very, very hairy man... (very very is an understatement)
That tells you the door is open and to just come on in,
That is lying on the couch and is making direct eye contact,
While only wearing a pink, lacy teddy... in a pose...

As my guys were waling out of that apartment I was walking towards them,
I'll never forget the look on the Journeyman's face, he was kinda pale, dead pan looking and his apprentice looked traumatized,
I was thinking they found a body or something...
"Is that Apt done?" I asked
Not even breaking stride and looking directly ahead "Nope, not doing it , doing the next one"
"why not?" I ask as he's knocking on the door at the far end of the hallway....
"Can't say, as I don't want to even think about it again to even say what it was, it will be made forgotten" door opens and he goes in...
WTF ??? I knock on that door, walk in and get the "eyeful"
my brain is kinda shutting down my vision in pure survival mode.... forget fight or flee, there is only flee.
So I blurt out something like "Uhhh I forgot some tools, I'll be back in a little bit."
Voooom out the door I go, as I'm closing it I hear in a feminized voice "I hope they're big ones"
Walked to the stairwell and laughed my ass off for about 10 minutes,
got my composure... went to the end apartment where the other "victims" were...
The tenant knows all about this individual so enjoyed our laughing so hard about it...
But then .... I got everyone quiet and told the tenant to turn the kitchen sink on....
Call the plumbing General Foreman on speaker phone...
"Hey Mike, yeah there is a problem in 1216, water all over the bathroom, not sure if the toilet is heavily clogged or someone hit a pipe when we were core drilling a couple floors away, better send someone up before it becomes a major flood"
"You a$$hole you probably cut through a pipe and don't want to admit it, I'll enjoy you charging premium to fix it... yeah I'' send a couple guys right up"
My guys and the tenant were rolling around the floor with tears coming out of their eyes...
The look of hatred on those plumbers faces when they came out and saw us wheezing in the hallway ....
But when I suggested that they call their boss and say "It's a big problem and he better come up and look at it as the electricians really fooked things up"
They were then hiding in the other apartment with us, giggling like schoolgirls...
They were about to get fired until they suggested there was a drywall problem...

Other incident was some guys wanting to steal my phone in an elevator but that one is a long one. But funny too.

Then you get pulled over for speeding,
while the cop is writing your ticket,
    someone steals your Cats.
(little did you know that the police had to replace their lost Towing company, income with a cut of the cats program)

In Hamilton a lot of the scrap dealers all have signs "Top prices for Cats" ...
So now you can imagine the problem in some areas now... sawzalls are a hot commodity at the pawn shops.

Like you mean to tell me that some funky looking character comes up with their bicycle towing a wagon full of cats with a sawzall on the side, in any way looks legit.
Yeah right the recyclers are not dirty as crap...
Watched cops just drive past one of these guys and didn't even slow down just swerved around him as his wagon was pretty wide... :bananadead:

Apparently Prious cats get the best prices, and they like trucks because the cats are big and it's easy to get under them.

When Aluminum was at a high price some enterprising people stole the handrails that go over the QEW bridge.

    https://www.iheartradio.ca/610cktb/...hamilton-pedestrian-bridge-over-qew-1.3381793

2 weeks after our master electrician finished a house he was flipping (and as luck would have it 2 days before the closing of the sale) someone broke into the house and broke open the walls to steal all the copper pipes and the wires. TV was still in the living room but the cord was cut off of it. Like WTF lol
(abandoned house on the same street had been hit earlier on too). Lol didn't turn off the water either... basement was flooded.

    Mostly stock for now...
Years ago when I was working in BC thieves rolled up to Ucluelet's Baseball diamond over the Christmas holidays - dismantled the entire bleacher set up and loaded into a truck - it took a few days until locals questioned where the bleachers had gone... the stories from the scrap yards were crazy

Had a total power outage on a weekend few weeks back. Guys were tryin’ to steal a live transformer down the street. Judgin’ by all the flashin’ lights I saw, looks like a fail. :bananadead:

I'm heading to down to Collingwood/Tobermory in a couple weeks...hopefully it isn't bad there...

The crackheads in North bay aren't smart enough to steal cats, so not a huge worry here (yet).
