I did, before I looked into them more. They're not just a lowered Tacoma, they have some legit improvements for handling and power. Yeah, it defeats the purpose of a truck, but there's a whole community of street trucks, so why not make a variation for them?

Although, it must have sold like shit, because Toyota pulled it, along with the regular cab... so you ARE the majority in your thinking.

I almost bought an x-runner 10 years ago, popped up on facebook memories the other day but i hated the way it drove. If they made a 3rd gen x-runner I'd seriously consider it over a 4x4.

I would assume so... it was only offered in Red and blue (edit: and black) and the ground effects are factory. It would be a lot of effort to fake it, when it would only lower the value of the truck.

I think he's referring to the Supra sticker on the driver side back window

I used to be all about stickers on my truck but have removed as much as I could. A lot of residue even with goo off and some just won't come off as they've cracked!

Dude in the second gen forum swapped, I believe a 2.5 gen manual single cab, onto the frame and gear of a xrunner because they didn't make the truck he wanted, and the differences were significant enough to just justify buying a second donor truck to make the swap. He went so far as to make templates of the frame and cross members to line things up and preemptively solve problems. A lot of work for a relatively minor change, but still cool. I'd love an X-runner to put a supercharger on and street tires, stiff suspension and sway bar upgrades and take to the track.

I just dont like the idea of a truck designed for the street. Like Bertw192 said, defeats the purpose of a truck, but that's just me. I guess you could make the argument that a truck is not necessarily meant for off road

As a person who has their RTT mounted too low (on a trailer), it makes it more of a pain in the ass. Too tall to step into, but too short to "climb" the ladder. I need someone to increase my rack height, desperately...

maybe remove the ladder off the tent and use/bring a 3 step stepping stool ladder as a replacement?

also could prob get better aero efficiency by ditching the square cvt style tent in favor of a hard/clam shell style tent...

just observations in search of perfection  as is the trailer seems fantastic!!

    Thanks!

I'll have to do some planning. The top opens with the assist of gas shocks. I'm already nervous about the weight of the tent, but with the additional leverage, I want to add some additional hinges (only has 2 currently). I'll need to look into sourcing some matching hinges... I keep putting it off...

    20190519_164323.jpg

I did finally get some 33's (skinnies) mounted on my SCS wheels, so I'll be matching my truck... VERY useful upgrade...

It's less about the ladder, it's the wasted anex and ducking under the extension... Plus, I'd like to haul my kayak under the tent, if possible.
