With a short bed that's too small for anything useful.

I’ve use my “short bed that's too small for anything useful“ a lot since I’ve got it. Lots of yard work, building a deck, and more. Yup, it’s too small to be useful.

Was hauling 12 foot soffit panels and plywood today with the short-bed so its still plenty useful.

Yeah this is a dumb argument when the "long" bed is a whopping 6' anyways. My 5' bed does all I've ever asked it too or needed.

Impossible. Can’t do truck things with a 5ft bed, come on now.

    That’s a proper colour for a truck.

Silver Sky actually weighs about 4.5kG less than the other colours due to molecular helium, and the sun has a small but noticable effect of pushing you forward due to reflective torque.

    It’s just about performance.

They're both small beds which makes a 20% increase that much more noticeable. I've had both and much prefer the long bed, especially coupled with the access cab so it's still a shorter package.

I'm mainly just here to talk shit though. I used to haul my 10' snow machine in my 5' bed. That's still a shitshow in a 6' Tacoma.

I guess I should actually contribute to this thread.

All my trucks have been OR trims. I live in the NC mountains and use the 4x4 enough to justify its purchase. I've used the locker a few times and it has been a life saver. I can't imagine not having it.

That being said, nothing wrong with the sport. OP, be honest with yourself, do you need the OR features? Or do you favor the looks of the sport. Both can have 4x4. That is all most people will ever need.

I personally dont like the skewp and the 17" wheels that come with the sport. If I didn't go for the OR, I would go for the 4x4 SR5.

Honestly the biggest advantage, imo, the Sport has over the OR is that you can get it in ACLB with a Manual. Idk why on earth the same cant be had with the OR.

I have a short bed OR in Manual, the bed still does a lot for me. But if I wish I could have the OR trim with ACLB and Manual.

OP good luck in your purchase. Just make sure you think about what you really need your truck for.

But for the sake of argument, a Locker>>>fake scoop and ugly wheels

Yea, its funny how people talk up the "long bed" Tacoma for "something useful". The length difference is laughable. If you were doing lots of large material hauling you would not get a Tacoma in the first place. Or use a trailer.

This is true as well, my 5' bed has been able to handle everything I needed to haul. Furniture, gravel and lumber.
