Tattoos in San Diego

For anyone that's interested, my step-son (Ryan) does tattoos. His pricing is pretty low and he's pretty good at it. For a cost comparison, he would have probably done the tattoos I have for less than 1/2 the cost that the shop who did them charged me (Avalon). I'm pretty sure he does everything without templates.

I don't think he does color. I'll get some pictures of his work posted so you can see samples.

He has said he's going to go to the Superstition Mountain trip so he'll be there if anyone wants to meet him (he probably won't be doing tattoos there though ).

Robert, I know you're proud of your son, but I would never let anyone "freehand" anything. All that means is, you're gonna get a funny or bad looking tattoo. Especially lettering, if it does look right on paper, it's not going to look right on skin. I want to see an outline before i sign up for anything. Does he work in a shop? I doubt anyone he would apprentice under would allow him to "freehand" on anyone in their establishment. This is just an opinion...

Thanks for your opinion. I'll let his work speak for itself. He doesn't work in a shop. When I say freehand, I mean he doesn't use ink templates unless it's a very detailed precise design or the customer demands it. He can work from a drawn design and will draw out what he's doing. The lettering in the picture above was freehand as were all the pictures above. He also won't tattoo anyone who's waffling.

 

I'm not really a "TAT" guy, but damn that is very nice work IMO....

I NEED some more tattoos....it's like a drug. I want to get a memorial tattoo for all my brothers I've lost in OIFII on my side but I haven't found anyone can can draw up what I want yet
