You might want to be careful, Bruce. I think @EatSleepTacos has copyrighted the use of calling a Tacoma by "Betty". Not for sure though, but I would still be careful either way.

Surprised Toyota didn’t go after ‘em. But then they were likely only forklifts & such back then.

 

It folds flat against the face of the camper (has torsion spring assist) and the rails all pack on the tongue.
Made the steps hinge so they can fit flat up there as well. Still need to build a rack for it all to fit in like it originally had.

 

I don't think I've ever seen a camper with a porch that was attached, that is amazing. I've seen some where people leave the porch and park next to them though.

 

I get stopped all the time when I’m gassing up with it. One guy even followed me off the interstate to check it out!
The wife and I were originally searching for the hard sided pop up campers called Aliner by a company called Columbia Northwest, when this popped up on a search one day.
I said, that’s not an Aliner, but it’s cool as hell! After some discussion and the realization that I’d need a new Tacoma, we went and bought it!
It turns out, Columbia Northwest actually produced about 50 of these between the years of 2006-2007. I even found the patent number on the porch and looked it up. Had the original sketches of the idea.
Certainly don’t see them, and I’ve never seen another. Makes for quite the conversation piece at the campgrounds!

 

I didn't realize it was factory built, I thought you added the porch. Sounds like a unicorn!

 

Sure is! The gentleman at the dealership I bought it from said “it’s as rare as hens teeth!”

At Atlanta motor speedway a few yrs ago there was a few 5th wheel type that had a fold up rear and side decks with awning's but were HUGE

We went to an RV show a few years ago, it’s crazy the stuff their doing with campers these days!

 

Indeed it would I have seen these as much as $190K plus you need a damn F650 crew cab to tow the thing for another $$125K

 

WTF can you get an F650 for $125K??????
