I don’t remember it’s been so long and I was a teenager. Our local mall had one, I spent a lot of time there.

Did a quick Google and learned these still exist, FYE is what it was called.

I also miss when National parks had more campgrounds and I did need a reservation 4 -6 months in advance to get one. Additionally when forest service campgrounds were free or just a few dollers

 

Toys r us… I spent a good amount of time saving up for this. I still remember the location I got it from. It is now a regional postal sorting facility.

 

We had a Toys R Us here in town that was open up until about 6 months before the pandemic hit. Still an empty building but heard they're putting a Burlington's in it.

Everyone got upset about them closing in our town, but the place was always empty. Can't expect a biz to survive if they never go it.

 

Although I think Toys R Us, like many long term businesses from our childhoods that have closed down lately, didn't adapt well to the e-commerce revolution.

90s? We did that shit in the 80s!! I worked at Blockbuster and the girls were sooooo friendly when I would hold a movie for them.

Record town. Tape world, coconuts? Not sure if the parent company, Trans World Music is still around, but I believe these music stores are gonzo.

 

I worked at the Blockbuster Video in Alamo Heights, Texas in 1986. So I have don't know where you got your info. It was established in Dallas in 1985.

 

I was saying I didn’t get the drivers license till 1990. Before then it was hard to pick up the ladies when mom and dad were shopping with you.

If you worked there in the 80’s you were my hero as keeper of the return box. We used to loiter around it for a new release return.

 

Only the cute girls got the quick returns.
