Borrow mine until you get yours for this event if you want. Not the bump stops.............

Edit - you can use one and John @Scrovak can borrow the other one. Then switch after a while since they are different models. You simply input the frequency (aka channel) before you guys all begin. Yes, there are a limited number of frequencies that work best but for the most part you should be able to set up on one that would be exclusive to your group. GMRS radios are the same thing, being that they already have multiple channels stored or you can program them. The Trifecta would be HAM/GMRS/FRS :bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

My nieces boyfriend is looking for a replacement for his car that was totalled when he hit a deer. Nothing fancy, but cheap and running. Not sure how much he wants to spend but I would assume as little as possible.

For everyone talking about GMRS radios and I don't mean to be "that guy". But you actually need a license for them as well. Unless it has changed in the last 2 years.

It's really not enforced tho and not sure when you would need to show your license or to who you would have to show it to. But I imagine it would be a fine from the FCC if cought.

:anonymous: I'll go back to my corner now. Carry on... Lol

Ive got one of those fancy FCC operator licenses somewhere…. Let me see….

It’s from almost 20 years ago and I remember nothing about it or the test… also was a lifetime license.

My radios are technically 0.5w frs lol. So are a lot of the little handheld ones like the Midland XTalkers.

For GMRS strength radios, the price of license dropped to $30 this year and it's just a one time fee and no class for 10yrs of licensing

Hasn’t dropped yet went to pay for my license 2 weeks ago and it was still $70 for 10 years. So I’m holding off till they drop it to $35

So you need a license for both HAM and GMRS? Or is that HAM radios operating at GMRS freq strength?
