As far as buildings are concerned, we have about 16,000 rooms and have space reporting that gets sent to the state for all of them. The reports consists of the department that occupies a room, what they use it for (office, lab, conference room, etc.) and how many square feet it is. All of that can only be done if the plans are drawn (somewhat) accurately.

For the campus as a whole, we really are our own city within a city. We have our own private roads, garbage collection, mail and steam lines. Water, sanitary and storm sewers and power all tie into the city but maintaining what's on campus is on us.

Keeping all that updated for both routing and age is important to know what likely needs to be replaced soonest and where it all ties into. We also have to report to the state a summary of the infrastructure on campus every 2 years so keeping it up to date helps that not be such a colossal undertaking. Even though it still royally sucks.

When I started in 2011, for some asinine reason campus wasn't drawn to scale. It took me a few months working on it here and there but I stitched together 12 images like this:

    Capture.jpg

scaled it to full size and eventually got everything redrawn to a point that I trust it when someone asks for dimensions or areas.

FYI - all those sidewalks sucked.

    Ouch.

I'm the third person that has had this particular job description. There was likely a similar position before that but it would have been hand drawing instead of CAD.

That particular view is about 40 acres but all of the main campus is about 350 acres. There's a bunch more off campus and farmland.

After pulling the truck off the Jack stands with the Rotors off .

Being under the front end I no longer worry.

To this day I have no idea how I even got out let alone not a scratch
Sometimes you need to use what is on site you can`t wait hours or days to get the right tools.

Not in my first 10 choices but it seems to have done the job

Cole and I went over and shot a couple .22’s and the .380 yesterday after we closed the store. This cost more than Sadie’s piano lessons

Good idea. The way the Dr. Explain it to me, they remove any polyps during the procedure. The polyps are what can turn into cancer and removing them reduces the chance of cancer in your butt to almost nill.
Happy Friday all. I'm behind on thread so try and catch up later. Working on one of my kids cars last night and the job is trying to get the best of me...(us, wife helping)

Edit, my butt was found to be clean with no polyps so I can go 10 years now....he didn't find my favorite matchbox car either..
