Seems like something a person might do if they stole the truck...

That’s a clam shell tent. With his rotopaks there he had to off set the tent.

I could be wrong, but I think they were talking about it not being level... not the off-center mounting... both aspects would drive me nuts though.

I'm also wondering if it is centered side to side. But maybe it's just one of those uber long ones hanging way back on the bed rack/ over tailgate, exaggerating how it looks at the slight camera angle.

My eye-crometer says it's crooked. Good reminder to double check the fasteners on your rtt if you have one

I thought of that. I also leave a note beside it saying what day I parked and what day I’ll be back. Figured that decreases the sketch factor a bit.

    yeah, non-full disclosure.

    And now the buzz kill:
Some of my off roading buds were down in the Owyhee area of Oregon/Idaho and happened upon an abandoned full size Furd in the middle of the trail.
They stopped and called out for a bit to see if anyone was around so as to ask to move it.
No answer but the keys were in the ignition and there were some pill bottles.
Instead of calling the sheriff at that time, they decided to move it up and out of the way.
Returned home to PNW, one of the guys remembered the name of on the pill bottle and the license plate and did a google search.
Up pops a missing persons report for both the name on the bottle and the truck.
He calls the sheriff as he noted the GPS coords and reported the truck and that they moved the truck out of the way.
Sheriff calls to interview all parties around moving of the truck.
No charges were pressed by Sheriff.
SARs was involved and discovered the lady within 100' of the truck: suicide by those exact pills.

If he couldn't mount the rotopax without hitting the tent in its closed position, that's understandable. However, if he only offset the tent so that he could open the clamshell AND keep the rotopax mounted, that's silly.

I vote crooked. The DesertArmor logo isn't centered on his tailgate latch and license plate. I am also accounting for the flatness of the earth at 47.7547477,-122.1653558 precisely.

I thought they were great. My wife and I wanted to try a tiny home out to see if we liked it. Only complaint was I wish the cook top was two burner instead of one. How did you enjoy your stay?

No, it just looks goofier than a three legged dog tryin to hump a goat. If you ever get spotted be prepared for some light-medium ribbing
