I took a long trip that was mostly 55mph with a few stops. 130 miles total, 21.5 mpg indicated.

So almost 24mpg when factoring in +11% for the larger tires.

When I do 60 3 mile trips a month due to short distance to work, I get about 14mpg manually calculated. A lot of stop and go.

Just moved up to the 285/75/17 group and loving it. Got a barely used set of Nitto MT's for a solid deal and they've been good to me so far.

Would you mind snapping another picture or two further away from the truck, showing how low the spare sits now? Do 34's and the relocation negative affect approach angle/clearance? How much air did you leave in the tire?

    Thanks!

hitch is still the departure angle limiter but in reality you’ll be dragging this tire on everything.
I’d never do any real off-roading with a tire under the truck, then again I can’t imagine doing any “real” off-roading with the stock hitch either.

    tire is full of air

For me this is just a temporary solution until I build a flat bed

Haven’t read through this whole thread so you may have answered already but where you put your gear with that tire back there? I’m getting ready to go camping right now and am taking off the tonneau cover just to try to fit everything I need back there. I don’t have enough room as is with the spare on the bottom.

It’s a full sized 285/75/16 by the way. It fits but just barely. . .

My 285/75/17 don't fit under the truck comfortably but id think your 285/75/16s would.....
Throw that b$%ch on the roof and load your bed up (if you have a roof rack lol).
    upload_2021-7-9_13-41-52.jpg

Tucked off to the side of the bed also works if you have room.

I really like those wheels, they look super clean and simple. What's the brand and style? Also hello from just a few miles south :hattip:

Relations Race Wheels RR4-V 17x9 0 offset. I'm pretty sure they discontinued the RR4-V but they have a few styles that are basically the same.

Why would I do that? Like I said, it fits just fine underneath where the OEM spare goes.
