My expectations are getting out to meet and watch, being immensely envious of your rigs, voiding my warranty with a lift and 33s sooner than I have planned and being broke af.

service guys: nice work on the mods... looks like you built a better than PRO model yourself
me: thanks. how's my warranty looking?
service guys: ya um we will have to talk about that
me: you look like you appreciate a nice scotch...

this is why i say the rating system is all arbitrary. To one person it's more difficult, to another it's easier and that's how the rating system was formed.
a compilation of similar driving styles but different perspectives on difficulty

I wont be doing any stupid lines, my truck is my daily and i intend to drive it back home after the trip. if i need to do sketchy shit, then so be it but i wont be going out of my way to do so.

No reason to be envious of our rigs since you have a truck just as capable as ours - for example we got out wheeled in the snow by a guy in winter tires and stock suspension.
I only just put a 2 inch lift in the truck not even a month ago and i did one trail with it on.
with that said, if i was to do it all again, i would invest into under body protection before getting a lift or larger tires, it will save you in the long run....

this is 4 or 5 trips to Ardbeg on stock suspension and 30s

All good points. I was mostly talking shit. I'm pretty new to off roading so just excited to watch. Probably won't be doing much intense stuff for quite a few years.

I have the AL TRD skid and ordered an AL trans skid from the OKX group buy. Going to run those until I decide to do anything more intense. Steel for sure since I'm already denting up the TRD skid some.

Mostly building out my truck to do some ice road trips up to northern Ontario reserves for work and play. Won't be taking much risks once we're up there that's for sure.

Agreed also as I've been through the entire trail system at Ardbeg, the main trail that ppl follow isn't even comparable to somewhere like Crag or Quinn.

Your warranty will remain mostly intact! Kanata Toyota did a lot of warranty work on my 2009 regular cab that had a full OME lift. They griped about it then just did things, in the end I was happy with their service.

So thoughts on the plan now since more people are going. I am thinking the centex gas station can be a meetup for some people on the Friday or just in general as it is a 40 min drive to the Vennachar trail (level 1) head. (unless anyone knows of a closer spot (I couldn't find any but that doesn't mean much). This gas station can be for those that don't want to go to the camp spots below alone.

In terms of overall meetup place, I am thinking to set it up like Ardbeg where we meet at a camp spot. Each of these are the closest from the Vennachar trail head going in towards Crag Lake
    -45.17858,-76.92514
    -45.16336,-76.94884
This one is just passed the Sullivan Lake Trail --> 45.15646,-76.96136
This one is last resort as it is "busy on a dusty road" 45.15691,-76.95822

Figure if we meet up on Friday and campout and then can spend all day Saturday exploring Crag Lake and Quin lake trail. Whether we go back to the same campsite or find another is something we can decide on.

Again, depending on people we can break out into groups of trucks to other campsites and to run certain trails.....

    Thoughts?

i'd like to potentially join but no aftermarket armour so don't want to end up in a place with no alternatives. it seems like no one really knows the area though?

Can't guarantee myself as I have never been there but the level one trail we are going to be camping on could be good for you. It is only 22kms long and I am not sure if that would be something you are interested in. There is some level 2's around the area as well but may be an hour drive from where we are at.

I'm currently asking a few non tacomaworld people I know that are familiar with these trails if they're interested to help guide us out. I know the area but am new on trails.
