I just finished my second tank and I’m getting near 20mpg on 91 here in Cali . And I drive like a dick and am getting 2.2 mpg better and that’s with off-roading

I’m still on the first tankful. I’m gonna see when I get around 500 miles or more and couple of tanks. I do like the how responsive the truck is now. Thanks!

Have you considered trading it in for a prius? I mean...it is a truck! :crapstorm:

Did you tune your truck yourself or have it tuned by a local tuner? Any chance your LV and TC were reset as part of the tuning process? That can cause a temporary drop in MPG over the first few tanks of gas wheel the ECU/TCU relearns.

Your mileage will vary based on driving style and or type of driving environment (city, Hwy, mixed, etc…) which I’m sure your aware.

But my experience with around 800 - 900 miles on tune is that it getting about 1.5. - 2.0 MPG more than before.

First tank I averaged 19.2 MPG that’s averaging 75 MPH.

Last two tanks 21.6 MPG with mixed driving city 30%, backroads 60%, and 10% highways.

I don’t drive aggressive, and do make efforts to ease onto on ramps and no jackrabbit take offs.

It just doesn't get any better customer service than this for purchasing something. With a refund policy such as this, it is a no-brainer to at least give this a try.

I had the KDMax installed a week ago by Matt Barker in Graniteville, SC. Definite difference, the engine and transmission are more "connected" I have only driven 100 miles since then so I have not appreciated the full difference. I have not seen increase mpg as of yet. I have the SLT tip in and am having some difficulty with it. If I decide to go with the wife tip in, how does it compare with the SLT and the factory tip in, and does it change anything else?

You will still have all the benefits of KDMAX tune with (WifeTip) stock throttle tip in.

    -Regular- Aggressive throttle, linear throttle
-LT- Reduced by 10% on gears 1-3, the rest same as Regular
-SLT- Reduced by 10% more on gears 1-3, the rest the same as Regular
-WifeTip- Very light, like stock throttle on gears 1-6
KDMAX tune with stock throttle tip in.

I can go back to Matt and he can program the wife tip in. I was just wondering if it's more like the stock tip in and if it changes anything else in the program.

I did not tuned it myself. And I’m liking the responsiveness of my truck. I’ll definitely keep the tune.

All it changes is the throttle. Tune is the same—shifting and power still there.

I'm looking at this tune after being extremely disappointed with a competitors tune.

I'm not looking for a sports car, let's not deceive ourselves, right? But I want a more responsive, direct, predictable driving experience.

    Couple questions:
    • what changes when using ECT in this tune?
    • I have VFTuner, I assume a "tunepack" comes with all throttle tip-in options and I can choose what I want? (edit, i see this now in first post )
    • $100 is on the upper end of a tunpack, how are updates handled?

    1. With ECT, the throttle is a little higher and the shifting holds gears a little longer.
    2. The tunepack comes with all the throttle choices in both regular and premium octane.
    3. When you update your software, gears, tires, or battery--just send me a PM and I will make you updated files for free.

So, Does it change anything else in the program? I will try it for a few weeks and if I can't get used to it any time you come up to Greenwood we can meet up to change it.

Only if you change something and need an update. You would need to request it.
If we update something, or there is new changes to the tune, I will let everyone know.
For now, everything is good and getting better with time/learning. But in the future, when and if there are improvements, we will implement them.
