About $55/$65 for upper/lower, respectively. I guess I'm used to working on stuff with less expensive parts - YJ is only $25

Of course, how could I forget

Yeah, sometimes I dream about how cheap all of my Jeep parts used to be. Taco stuff and parts is so absurdly marked up that I have barely done anything to my truck.

It's just not as fun to spend money when a bumper or springs and shocks cost $1.5K versus my XJs where 4 corners of 3" lift springs with shocks is like $500 and a bumper is a piece of rectangle tube. Not the best example, but definitely valid.

I have seen XJ lift packages for $1500 that come with all new coils and leaves, shocks, AND a set of wheels and tires...

Yeah, definitely a sticker shock moving to Toyota. Didn't go quite that cheap, but I'm probably around $1200 for my YJ suspension (OME springs/shocks plus boomerang shackles)

Well my fuel door on the truck broke the lower hinge. Common issue since the hinges on these things are so thin and like to rust. Guess I'll get to order a new one...

You should anodize it blue before install....or we could "glue" it back together....

idk if we can glue paper thin steel back together. I'd rather just have a redesigned gas door that was made of sturdier stuff but that sounds like work for a part that's $30.

Gotta keep that shit lubed, yo
Ultimately went the patient route and ordered all three from RockAuto for $62 shipped. Only two are bad, got the third because why not. Just have to throw the worn out pair back in and listen to them scream for the weekend.

I only ever bought XJ stuff from Rusty's or the junkyard. I've always had a bit of the penniless hobo mentality. I guess now is no exception lol

I need a shitbox to wreck. I've been enjoying the mild manners of the Badger too much for me to commit too far in one direction on the DD... :goingcrazy: #thanksTW

I'm on the hunt and have a budget, it's just on the back burner until the wedding dust settles.

Also, you have good planning if RockAuto is an option. Teach me your ways.

My 89 XJ had the stock D44 and the legendary NP242. I effed hard selling that. This convo wouldn't even be a thing lol

Not sure if it's planning or having backup vehicle options. RockAuto has been essential for keeping the YJ ticking.

Damn. Yeah, shame on you for parting with that. My D44 was from an XJ donor, though I did eventually upgrade to disc brakes courtesy a junkyard '98 Explorer

I mean there's also an O2 Sequoia down the street from me, ridiculously clean, $5,000 with 268,000 miles on it.

Anybody have a chance yet to see Paul fanboy over his new FJ45 find? I'm sure the Aussie guys' brains are gonna melt when they see what he does.
