I dont really see it being all that difficult. I'm not trying to take the bushings out of the sleeves. I'm cutting the whole stock sleeve out and replacing them with these.



Just need to build a jig for the arms before I cut the stock sleeves out.

 

That's not difficult.

Getting all the stock rubber bushings out of the stock sleeve is a PITA..

 

Yup i did that once. Thats why I'm doing this now lol. Being able to weld helps with problems like this lol.

I just used the stock jack and it pressed everything out with ease

 

Can’t remember if the sleeve came out with it but if it didn’t I just used a chisel and knocked it out

 

Pressing my stock bushes out wasn’t bad. The truck has lived it’s whole life in El Paso though so. Even my cam bolts slid out by hand.

That said, pressing the Whiteline bushes in was the worst thing ever, I’d never do that again. I would rather cut them off and weld on the DOM/Poly replacements.
Especially with those zerk fittings

Are the DOM/Poly bits you have a kit or something you put together?

That's a great hole saw. I cope'd a ass of 1.625CM for cages with those. MAC also had a good one.

Anything CRC is like Marvel Mystery Oil, stuffs so good folks oughta drink it.

 

My general rule of thumb for paints, solvents and other chemicals is that the worse it smells, the better it probably is.

Anything particular to look for in a rivnut tool? Or are all the ones on Amazon essentially the same thing?

Or should I just buy flanged weld nuts and buzz them on?

 

They’re pretty much all the same off Amazon. I used

this one and it was good.

I’ve seen a high end one somewhere, Eastwood maybe? That’s probably overkill though unless you’re doing a lot.
As long as you can actually get the tool into where you want to put the rivnut you shouldn’t have an issue.

More style points for weld nuts though. If you’ll see them.
