I will be out of town around then. I do want to let this bake a bit and see how many folks are interested on multiple platforms. I do love the enthusiasm! It's what I need to stay motivated. I'm wondering if FishBio would be interested in donating cleaning tools/materials... Hmm..

Well... you figure out a date. I can probably get some folks from 4x4 InMotion to show up. I bet I could get some ECV to show up... Hell, I can even talk some Hell's Angels in to showing up, along with getting some people from TW.

Lol... If you have to beg them, to let you clean up their mess, that would be pretty ironic.

If they are "managers" it would seem they aren't doing a very good job "managing"... seeing as we are here having this conversation about how mis-managed the area is.

Not sure I'll be in the break in period by then. Just put the front diff in UPS yesterday. It has to get to North Carolina, then get re-worked, then get sent back.

Probably looking at sometime in august (realistically) for it to get back here.

Yeah, it took a week to ship to them, three days for them to do the work and a week back to me.

Unfortunately I’m not available Friday. TG and 559yotas, that sounds like a good combination for a meet.

    Operation Rusty spindle

To make it easier to deal with bearings going out, I'm refurbishing a second set of spindles. That way when I have a bearing go out I can just swap in the other set and replace the bad bearing when I have a chance.

These spindles will get a freash set of bearings, dust seals, etc after we get everything cleaned up and weld in the gussets.

Why the heck would they put this on a Friday of an already short week? Dumb!

Made some progress on the spindles yesterday

Spindles soaked in rust remover most of the day. We wire brushed them to remove everything loose. We brought the mating surfaces back to bare metal. They are all prepped and ready to weld gussets tomorrow.

Then we'll tape em up and paint em.

Hubs soaked all day too. I'd say they came out nicely.

And then we have the pile of parts:
    Bearings
    Retainer clips
    Inner dust seals
    Outer dust seals

    Operation: Rusty spindle (Continued)

I bent the top tabs inward to get a better fit.

Also, Beveled the edges where the gussets are welded under/inside where the UBJs are. If you run SPC or similar, that needs a clip to go around the UBJ sleeve, you don't want the weld to build up in this area. It will make it so the clip doesn't fit.

Robert started the 4th off early, by running some sparklers

I think they turned out just fine

All taped up and first coat is on.

Jen loves it when I get overspray on the lawn

Didn't get to do much today... Today seemed like the house was a revolving door for unexpected guests.

Did get to air out the RTT, and wash the bedding.

    Tightened up the twin sticks

Tightened up the Hella lights... that were hella loose.

Had a very constructive conversation with one of those unexpected guests about some REALLY BIG things that may occur between now and the end of the year... that, you'll have to stay tuned for.
