Hmmmm....... I can understand why motor mounts could be damaged during an accident. I don't understand how the model and year would matter.
Also, I'm hard pressed to fathom how an accident can damage a head gasket.

    Please educate me.

05 & 06 are known for motor mount issues and a hit like the OP did could very well cause issues with them. The head gasket and timing cover can be damaged by shifting mounts moving other items down the chain. Cause and effect. Each action has an equal and opposite reaction.

I don't have collision insurance on my 05 either. Not worth it because any repairs are made with used parts, you can do that yourself. I was rear ended by a semi doing 50mph. He had collision insurance but the insurance company refused to pay for injuries or damage. If you own your vehicle, don't expect insurance to pay for anything. If a bank owns your vehicle, they might.
A small percentage of 05-06 Tacomas have defective head gaskets. The product defect, and/or overheating appears to be the most likely cause of failure. You won't blow the head gasket by slamming the door too hard.

Sounds good. Head gasket? Not buying it. Lol.

    “Had a front in collision.”
“What was damaged? Bumper? Fenders? Radiator? Fan? AC? Pulleys?”
“Nope, just the motor mounts and a head gasket”.

you can post your truck on craigslist or facebook market place. people are paying very good prices right now. even if it needs work.

junk yards will also buy your truck but they will pay you very little.

Agreed. It's far fetch to think that a gasket or MM would fail due to a front end collision that didn't involve damage to the whole engine or frame.

Head gasket is bound to fail if it hasn’t started already. Because of the crash? Probably not

Get your facts straight Bologna Boy. There are no laws that require insurance companies to pay anything. Insurance is a civil contract. As it my case, both insurance companies declined to honor their contracts and I received $0.00 for injuries and damages. Accident attorneys, also known as "ambulance chasers" are paid on a percentage of medical bills. I didn't have over $100K of injuries from the accident, not worth it for bloodsucking lawyers. I sued the trucking company in small claims court, the judge dismissed the case saying "personal responsibility is not the basis of the law".

Sounds more like you had inadequate insurance coverage, did you just have liability? That is what it sounds like to me. A contract is still a contract and can be enforced using the proper legal resources which may cost you some money up front. ( Not ambulance chaser lawyers but real insurance lawyers )
You were rear ended and the guilty parties insurance refused to cover their obligations. Your insurance company (if they were worth a dime) should have made you whole if you had the appropriate coverage and then they would go after the amount from the guilty parties insurance company. Then again that would require you to have the proper coverage on your own.

Sorry you got F*cked, but your condemnation of the entire insurance industry is bologna.
