    So, I'm gonna do a buddy of mine a solid and tow his car about a 25/30 minute drive. Says its a 1 series bimmer so weight should be minimal but neither of us know shit about towing....feed me enough information so I don't kill us lmao

    Uhaul car trailers are heavy - 2200lbs or so. Series 1 is roughly 3,500lbs according to Google. Figure 5,750lbs plus whatever’s you take in the vehicle. Uhaul also have surge brakes which push the tow vehicle forward to activate the brakes. It would be better if you can get a trailer with electric brakes if you have a controller. Aluminum trailer would save on weight too. Call local trailer dealers to see if they rent. Don’t tow in overdrive and be prepared to rev the engine.
    Stopping takes longer and if you end up with a trailer with surge brakes be careful in downhill curves. The light weight of the rear on our trucks make them loose grip.
    For the hitch, you want the front of the trailer level or slightly lower than the rear. You also want about 10-15% of the trailer weight on the hitch - hence why payload in the truck becomes important.
