Just got back from 5 days of adventuring around Valemount BC. Absolutely beautiful area. I’ve learned that I need to do the tundra brake upgrade.. as well as a transmission cooler. Had some issues with one hill ascent with the ol girl.

For some strange reason I am having a hard time getting rear shocks for my truck that fit. I ordered a kit that was supposed to come with bilstein 5160's (remote reservoirs) and got 5100's instead. Since I payed for a more expensive shock and received the cheaper version I called and complained and eventually got the 5160's however the eyelets don't fit on the stock shock mounts so and I felt like they were a little short for my current lift height so I ordered a set of Bilstein 5125's and they also came with eyelets that are too small. Has anyone else had issues with the shock mounts being the wrong size?

    IMG_20210709_175329.jpg

It's a little harder to tell in the picture but the eyelets on the new shocks (both the 5160's and the 5125's) are almost small enough to fit inside the eyelets of my old 5100'sIMG_20210709_184324.jpg

My icons had metal sleeves I them from the PO, maybe those are still on the lower mounts?

@JKO1998 All 4 mounts are the exact same size on the truck. When I pulled the bed off to restore the frame a few months back I checked to make sure there were no sleeves left on the mounts. I was expecting them and didn't see any

Here's a picture of one of the new metal sleeves but even the outer diameter of the sleeve is small than the shock mount post

That part number is a universal shock with 5/8" eyelet. You need 19mm ones.

I see a toolbox in your bed in three pictures, but it seems to be missing from the first. Do you remove the toolbox when in camp?

Yes I can take it out in about 2 minutes so I can sleep in the bed easier.

Nice! Any special tricks or specific (lightweight?) toolbox you used to make that easier?
