Accident Where Integrity of CMC (cab mount chop) Questioned?

I think he knows he’s full of shit there bud. That’s the point of his comments. He’s just fucking around when you’re trying to be serious, that’s all.

Maybe have a sticker in your window that says something about surgeon general’s warning about the dangers of CMCs so people know before they get in the truck. Or one of those CA prop 65 warnings that living is hazardous to your health. Anything like that should suffice

 

I think an LED that lit up on the passenger side would suffice, like those old “airbag disabled” icons, when you used to be able to turn the airbag off. Something to warn your passengers they are about to lose their lower legs.

 

By that logic wouldn't adding a lift or larger tires increase roll over potential and thus make it less safe for your passengers?

In all seriousness, the CMC is something that I feel should be considered carefully, as I agree it may compromise the safety of the vehicle, as with many other mods we all do as well. I found it pretty interesting finding some of the articles about wheel intrusions and small overlap crashes, that have resulted in our forward cab mounts becoming so huge.

It would be nice to see some way of having a CMC done such that it is “approved”, but that’s not likely to happen. In Australia, they seem to have gone down that path.
