I haven't thought about line-x on the brackets... Good idea. I have rust in some areas on them.

 

They scared me out of even attempting it. Said they were afraid to damage the wheels by trying to see if they would snug up with the lugs on. Wondering if I should try another place. Can’t return them for refund. Exchange only because I used a credit card and I paid it off before they arrived. Zero balance on the card. I’m just assuming that on the return though.

 

Usually it is the mounting of tires on the wheels that makes them unreturnable.

 

The shop manager seemed to think they could damage the wheel just by putting on the lugs. Idk. Do these wheels just go up to the hub or go over the hub? Maybe a dumb question. As many years as I’ve owned vehicles I’ve never bought wheels. But I researched the crap out of these and seen a hundred Tacoma’s on here with these wheels. Surely they fit.

 

I had my Billiebar brackets done at the same time as well.

 

Is your tonneau cover a flip over? If so, how you open it with crossbar installed? I have seen rollable/slideable cover at the topper dealership which works with crossbars like yours.

 

It flips over in 2 sections. The last section is fixed. To remove each cross bar only requires the removal of 4x anti-theft screws which only takes a few minutes. I keep that specific screw driver in the glove box. For the attached lighting I use barrel connectors so they disconnect easy. If I had to pull the bars and flip the tonneau it would take maybe 5-6 min. I don't remove them often though.
Just mounted Yakima bike racks which will stay on for the summer.

 

Here's something that seems weird about the theory that the 4Runners have changed recently, thus the wheel specs have too. If you look at parts.toyota.com the part shows compatibility with 4Runners from 2010 - Current. Seems it would have issues with earlier model 4Runners also.

The Cali raised brackets are the lowest profile brackets out there. I looked at the Amazon ones but didn’t like how a bunch of people were complaining about how the brackets were at different heights and bad finish on them.

My guess about Baja pods and DD is that they fit on Cali Raised brackets. I don’t think Rigid mounts fit but I could be wrong.

 

Ordered the exact same part number - perfect fit. Only difference is I have a 2020. I read in another thread that some of the hubs are like .0010 thicker (or some ridiculously small number like that) and a little sanding on the wheel will get it to fit.

 

Nice area and nice pup. Born and raised in Charleston and spent many days on the beaches as well as fishing/shrimping in the harbor and surrounding area. Actually got back from there yesterday after a 5 day visit and was there last month. Still have family in the area. Spent some time on Folly Beach (Edge of America) where we walked to the end near Morris Island Lighthouse. Always good to go back. Check out Red's Ice House on Shem Creek next visit. Good food and hopping place with indoor/outdoor seating and bars. Both of my girls work there.

 

I added Matt Gecko bed lights to my 2017 since its not plug and play like the newer models. Added a switch to the dash on the lower left side of the steering wheel as that's where I wanted to control the lights. If that interest you just pm me and I can give you more pics and info.

 

Put in some Caliraised molle panels. Need to get a new holster and move it forward canted back but it’s good for now.

 

Replaced rear bumper caps and installed KTJO 4x4 door bowl lighting and driver side grab pillar. Figments good for being aftermarket.

That is the ticket. SEM texture spray will hide tiny imperfections and will give it more of a factory look. If you don't like the texture the first shoot, you can give it a light sand and shoot it again. Different distances and spray tips will also vary the look of the texture. All of the SEM stuff is top notch. I always had several cans of texture and satin black around at my shop.
