Tailgates dont do shit for shade. You definitely need a real awning. easy up is definitely the cheapest way to get decent coverage but remember you are figuring out how to secure it when theres even the slightest breeze.

I didnt notice any additional noise but I also have the GFC and 35s and listen to loud music and my control arms squeak etc. etc. etc. hahaha

The technical term is race truck noises. We’ll add some more when we do the rear in a few weeks. They mean you use the truck

Dometic CFX3 55im. Ive wanted a fridge literally as long as Ive known they existed. Girlfriend surprised me with it the other day, what an incredible gift! The mounting kit and hardwiring kit are on the brown truck for delivery today. Hoping to get it done in time to camp tomorrow.

Very nice. I'm wondering if I should have gone a little bigger after my CFX45 got stolen but I just replaced it with another 45.

Hell yeah. Nice setup man. We've got the older cf80 ourselves. It's been awesome. (thanks @prise ) paired with a Tortuga XL Slide for it's big ass. It only has the slide out cutting board under it.. but I do like that stove slide...

My Coastal Rear bumper showed up yesterday. With some aluminum headlight hoops for my Pelfrey bumper. The tubing is slightly larger, OD anyways. Probably thicker walled. :( but the bends are perfect! Lol

Yeah it's better than an open bed but that's about it. Hence why I was looking for more.

I do see tailgate awnings that attach to the tailgate at the back and then sandbags to weigh the "front" 2 legs down but those probably turn into sails as well. There's also stuff that has UV netting that comes down in addition to the awning which might be pretty cool to keep the sun off me.

Overall I'd prefer something relatively low profile, though, so I could just leave it installed all the time.

Finished the install this evening. Mounted it with the Dometic mount system since none of the hard mount threaded holes on the bottom of the fridge lined up with the holes on the ATO slide... Also ordered the Dometic "hardwire" kit which comes with a little 2 hookup panel. It has one "cigarette lighter" DC hookup and one "2 prong" hookup which Ive never seen before, looks Euro. Whats cool is the cord from Dometic has the standard cigarette lighter adaptor and the 2 prong adaptor morphed into a single piece so you can use whichever you like by simply threading or unthreading it. Wired the panel into my fuseblock under the hood by simply cutting off their fittings and fuse. Fridge has a little LED display screen on the outside and an LED light inside, its even wifi/bluetooth enabled so you can control it from your phone to turn it on/off, change the temp, monitor the truck battery voltage, set low voltage alerts etc. pretty friggin sweet.

Some asshole hit the kickout on my slider. Based on the amount of paint he left behind, I’m sure that car is in worse shape. This pic is after I washed it so some paint is gone.

Mall crawling jokes aside, sliders are great because they make sure anyone who attempts to ding your doors ends up in far worse shape.

I remember watching someone kick their door open at my taco, and the slider made a nice little crescent on the edge of their door. They were about to give the driver one of those smarmy "ha ha I don't give a fuck" looks until they realized the only damage was to their shitheap.:luvya:

In other news, I'm on my last week of the anticonvulsant medication, and I feel good that I actually got to turn some wrenches today! :bananadance:

I've got to take it easy on myself, a skid install that would have been knocked out in an afternoon or less I'm breaking up into multiple sessions, but I'm learning to quit before I start to feel any fatigue or shittiness a-brewing.

:duh: Useless factoid only Nitori would post: RCI Aluminum skid for the T4R is actually 1 pound lighter than the stock skid.:rofl::rofl:
