I have a 1999 Tacoma (I'm the original owner). It's the 4x4 extended cab with the v-6 engine. I'm struggling to find decent rubber floor mats for it. I'm looking for mats that fit it without any trimming, if possible. Any recommendations?

    Thanks,
    Mike

I bought grey mats at Walmart that fit well without trimming.

I use Wallyworld mats myself. Work just a good as the High Dollar ones.

Stay away from weathertech, they slide around too easily.

Husky has the best planted mat between the two and the grey and oak match well. And they catch and prevent slop from saturation to the carpet.

I got the Husky mat and I hate them. They only offer the universal fitment one and it slides around and the fit on the passenger side is garbage. Which one did you get?

I have the complete opposite experience. While I’m not the biggest fan of WeatherTechs they do incorporate the carpet hook to help prevent slipping.

The Huskys do not. And within the first two or three foot movements have slid all the way up onto the firewall.

I’ve searched for this as well, I find most of the well reputable companies like husky and weather tech do not make a direct molded mat for the 1999 xtra cab tacos. You have to actually cut the mat to fit. I have some very affordable durable mats from the big box auto parts store. They are tan and match my tan interior well. I have them over top of my carpet mats. They will slide occasionally getting in and out of the truck but not bad.

The Husky liners I have fit my 98 xtra cab perfectly.

I am glad you told me this, when I contacted them they said they had to be cut to fit and they were not a direct molded fit like other mats they offer for other vehicles.

Do you run the one big long skinny mat in the back? I don’t ever plan on hauling anyone back there but would love to protect the factory carpet as much as possible!

I used to run the two piece set in the back but the amp under the driver seat and sub under the passenger seat prevent that from happening.

Husky liners #35113 did not fit my ‘04 extra cab even though their website said it would. Was going to try the ones they say were for a standard cab but found weathertech mats at Costco that fit near perfectly without trimming. This is the huskyC66B5A42-38E6-4ADF-B518-ADCBA8D025D9.jpg

I had the same experience with the Husky set. They also warped/bent easily and the outer lip was annoying in spots. The Weathertechs have been great since I put them in a few years back.

My weather techs have been great. It’s all personal preference.

WeatherTech FTW! They don't seem to have an exact fit for your truck, but even their trim to fit is a quality product. Just install them & cut the excess off with a good pair of scissors, if needed.

The Costco Weathertech universal are ok for the 99 (what I have). They do move some and had to cut several areas. Cheap at $30

Nothing a sharp pair of scissors can't fix.

And FWIW I have had husky liners front and rear in my xtra cab for the last ~year and they have been excellent. They've never budged

I liked the OEM all weather mats cuz it was cool they said tacoma and we’re all weather hahahha but those can be hard to find.

If your on a budget, slap anything decent in there that functions. If your budget is open, go with the expensive ones, weather techs for example.
