Does the 2021 TRD Sport Premium have JBL speakers

The specs say premium audio for the premium sport version but on the TRD PRO says 7 speaker Jbl. Would imagine the sport premium are Jbl’s?

 

My 21 TRD Premium Sport does have JBL. Tacoma ebrochure shows Premium JBL Audio as part of TRD premium Sport package (A/T Only).

 

Don’t confuse Entune Premium with JBL Premium Audio. Unless it has leather, sunroof, etc. (i.e., the premium package) the specs are probably talking about Entune and not JBL.

 

So if it has leather, sunroof, etc it will have JBL?

 

That’s my understanding. I’d play around with building one on Toyota’s website. Gives you a good idea of what’s included in the various packages.

 

Hmm, interesting. Thank you. I think the build sites must be different from the Canadian build site. I ordered the Sport premium and all it says is "

• Premium Audio with Remote – includes Embedded Navigation, Destination Assist (1 year trial), Remote Connect (1 year trial), Safety Connect (1 year trial), Service Connect (10 year trial)

Hopefully that means it has the JBL

 

My OR (2019) has navigation and has JBL. Don’t know if that translates to the same in Canada, but in the US, the premium/tech packages were essentially the same for Sport and OR models. Aside from the 360 cameras and the under camera for OR models, plus CarPlay and Android auto, I don’t think much has changed re: the head unit and premium packages.

 

Looking forward to finding out the answer as well. My Sport Premium should be here before the end of the month...

I got mine last month... no JBL but Im from Canada and I know there’s some difference between models
The sound was a bit better than I expected though

People complain about the JBLs but I've been really satisfied with mine so far - I don't need a pair of 12's anymore to blow out my eardrums... The sub provides plenty of bump.

Really not surprised we don't get JBL although why cheap out on the same model depending on Canada vs US destination for a comparable trim package?

I got the TRD Sport Premium, no JBL. yeah I don’t understand why we don’t get it but in the states they do... just like how we don’t get the option to get LED headlights and shit unless you order the TRD Pro. I think in Canada the only JBL models are the Pro and the limited.

 

You're better off without the JBL if you have any intention of ever mildly upgrading the stereo.

 

What speakers does the "sport premium" package have for the access cab? It isn't very specific.

 

Probably correct there. On a 2017 F150 without the top stereo a person can easily do the Forscan mod to the factory Ford deck converting high speaker level to low level by reprogramming the APM module. With a T harness, some 9 wire, and splicing of RCA's it's easy to provide clean signal to any 5 channel amp. Hoping I can T harness into the factory system and then somehow (possibly LOC) to my current TWK 88 JL to Kenwood amp. The research begins soon if the current stereo ends up having terrible sound quality.

 

I was wondering this same question. I see the 'Premium audio' on the window sticker of a truck I test drove but the system didn't sound anything like 'premium'. It wasn't until I read this thread that I realized there are different options.

So it looks like the JBL speakers are not available on any of the trucks equipped with a manual transmission? Not even the Pro! That's disappointing.
