I don't remember the last time I even bothered calculating my MPGs, I assume they're around 13 or so lol. If I'm just commuting around the area I only fill up a couple times a month.

If going on a day trip to go wheeling then yeah, I gotta mentally prepare to spend a couple hundred on gas depending on where I'm going.

I think I will ditch some armor. I will keep the bumper (ARB) w/ winch. The bumper is shockingly light, and I have used both more than once.

So wheels and tired are unsprung weight, I already have aluminum wheels, running 255's my MPGs are not terrible 15.5 combined.

Explain? Our trucks are not known for carrying heavy loads.

 

I was in the high teens (20 on trips I think) That was before shell and rack and bumper...I don't want to know right now.

 

I have the same bumper, maybe if you're not going to wheel for a while you could remove the winch until you know you might really need it? If it's worth the hassle. Could also bump down a tire size if you want to spend the money.

 

Mine is calculated post 4.88s, 33's and a speedo gear swap, so I think its pretty close.

 

The largest impact to both can be had with your right foot.

 

Yeah I actually managed 20 on an all highway trip back when I first got the truck.

All I know is, I'm lucky to see 190 miles to a tank these days and I know that's bad. I usually fill up right before the light comes on. So that's what, 15 gallons. So 12.5 mpgs. Not accounting for the odometer error with 33s which isn't much.

Goddamnit this is why I don't calculate it

 

Unless your driving a 100% stock truck, your MPG isnt gonna be great. As @Speedytech7 said, biggest impact on mpg is how you drive.

Wanna carry heavy loads? Throw some stiffer springs on and knock yourself out.

 

Haha yeah, little depressing. (Btw that's what my 100 got on 285's on a good day and that's a pig with a v8.)

 

Well now I don't feel so bad about MPGs. haha. I drive like an old man sans cruise control.

 

Story of my driving around here. Slow off the start, people get annoyed and pass/go around me, then I end up passing them when I'm up to normal speed.

 

Most of my mileage these days is just short trips around town so it's not too surprising. Although my highway mpgs were pretty awful too last I checked, but that was with the giant roof rack/lights up top.
I need to see what the highway mileage is now that I don't have that on anymore

 

Oh you took the rack off? That should help a little, but I bet its quieter now too.

 

I'm running Michelin Defenders on the Taco. Granted it's stock a weight 2WD. I checked the mileage a couple of times. It uses so little fuel that I stopped checking. I think the tires have a lot to do with rolling resistance and mileage.

 

Yeah, well...minus one loose rivnut that makes a shit ton of noise lol.

 

Oh, fun. Silicone it maybe? Guess you could tape it on the inside to stop it rattling too. Kind of a headache.

 

So who wants a CBI bumper?

 

I'm going to try re-crimping it with a better tool first. If that doesn't work I'll drill it out and put a new one in. They all got a healthy dab of RTV before going in to prevent water leak

 

Man, before going to work I hit up 2 automotive stores.

They both don't carry transmission lines, only fuel.

I can buy some online but I don't need 25' of it.

Anyone got 7' of line to sell?

Need 3/8" inner diameter.

 

I always get mine at Napa, they have it ready to cut.
